TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION OFBATHYMETRIC SURVEY FOR

FEASIBILITY STUDY

1. Purpose of Bathymetric Survey

The purposes of bathymetric survey are to determine the optimal layout of
the power and nickel plant and design level of power block, the location
and level of marine structures such as jetty or wharf, cooling system and
other related facilities.

2. Scope of Bathymetric Survey

 Bathymetric Survey on an area of about 8000x7000 m2, interval line
spacing 50 m, map scale of 1:1000 with contour interval of 0.5 m
 Processing of Data and Drawings
 Report & Plotting Map / Drawing consist of paper print & original
electronic file (not PDF file) in CD
 Tidal Level Observation (30 days)
 Review and report of 50 year occurrence of high wave from relevant
port authority
 Report on sedimentation effect
 Average wave height and period
 Reporting

3. Bathymetric Survey Technical Requirement

The technical requirement of bathymetric survey consists of but not
limited to the following:

3.1. Survey Location

The bathymetric survey is to be conducted on the coast linebetween the

river mouth at Tanah Kuningand the river mouth at Mangkupadi, for a total
area ofapproximately 13000 (shoreline) x 6000 m2 (protrusion into the sea
in an easterly direction) covering the locations of the proposed jetty and
trestle, cooling water intake and discharge and other marine structures.
The survey area is shown on the attached map.

3.2. Bathymetric Survey Procedure

The Bathymetry should be carried out along the coast line extending over
the topographicsurvey up to minimum of 20 m MSL depth to produce a
bathymetric map at a scale of 1: 1000 with0.50 m contour intervals
inAutoCAD format (digital map). This map should overlap with the
topographic map being prepared over the topographic survey area.

An echo sounder, Raytheon or equivalent.should be used for bathymetric

survey in deeper area (waterdepth > 1.5 m), while the topometric survey
method should be used in the shallow surf zonethat cannot be reached in
the survey vessel.

The bathymetric survey should be carried out in a grid pattern with a

longitudinal survey line, perpendicularto the coast up to a depth of 20 m
MSL. Positioning should be determined using a Differential Global
PositioningSystem (DGPS) to record sounding positions. The sounding
positions along thesurvey line should be recorded at 50 m spacing.

Tidal observations should be carried out during the period of the

bathymetric survey for tidalreductions to the echo sounder recorded
levels, and MSL (mean sea level) should be used as the datumelevation for
this survey.

The Topometric survey method should be used in the coastal zone which is
too shallow to be reached by survey vessels.

Tidal Measurement

Tidal measurements should be made, based on local tidal fluctuation

charts and adopt the position of0.00 m LWS as the reference level.

The Tidal measurement should be carried out to collect tidal level data
that will be used to analysethe main harmonic constituents and to obtain
the datum elevationsfor the project site i.e.: HHWL,HWL, MSL, LWL, LLWL
etc. An automatic tide recorder should be used to record tidal data for
30days continuously through the bathymetric survey period. In addition 50
year data should be provided from local authorities to evaluate maximum
expected wave heights. Wave data should be provided in height and
period.

3.3. Expected Output

The final products to be submitted to the owner at the completion of the
work are:
 Technical report
 Hard copy in paper output of 1: 1000 scale of bathymetric map 0.50
m contour interval
 Soft copy of technical report and map in ASCII file of XYZ data and
digital map in CD ROM.
