Simple Survey Written Exam

It is your responsibility to read and understand the instructions provided in this


document prior to commencing the written exam.

IT IS RECOMMENDED YOU HAVE THE INVITATION AND THESE INSTRUCTONS


READILY AVAILABLE TO YOU ON THE DAY OF THE EXAM.

TIMEFRAME:
 Your testing session has been scheduled as follows:

Date: Thursday, January 24, 2019


Time: Anytime between 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM EST

 You will have up to 55 minutes (consecutively) to complete Part 1, up to 15 minutes


(consecutively) for Part 2, and up to 60 minutes (consecutively) to complete Part 3 of
the exam. Please note that if you complete Part 1 early, you will still only be allotted
up to 15 minutes for Part 2, and 60 minutes for Part 3. The timer only activates once
you have clicked on the email link to start your exam.

 You are free to start and complete your exam within the period noted above. Please
note that the testing session must begin no later than 4:00 PM EST if you wish to
have the full duration for each part of the exam. The system will deactivate the exam
at 6:15 PM EST and you will not be permitted to continue the test.

 Should you not attend the exam, you will be considered as withdrawing from this
process.

 The electronic exam will consist of three (3) parts using Simple Survey software.

documents using the Federal Court Rules or any other 60 %
provincial courts

EQUIPMENT / INTERNET ACCESS / ENVIRONMENT:


 It is your responsibility to have access to your email account for the duration of the
exam.

 It is your responsibility to have access to a computer in working order with MS Word


(or compatible software) and Internet.

 Computer problems will not be accepted as a reason for not completing the exam on
time.

 It is your responsibility to ensure that your environment is adequate for testing.

 You are responsible for managing your own time during each part of the written
exam.

SIMPLE SURVEY - WHAT TO EXPECT:


 On the exam date and time, you will receive an exam link sent electronically to the
E-Mail address that you have provided us on your application.

 It is recommended you add messages-noreply@simplesurvey.com to your accepted


email addresses to reduce the possibility of the exam link being sent to your junk /
spam folder.

 If you do not receive an email link, it is recommend you first check your junk /
spam folder. Please note that delays associated with heavy use of Simple Survey
software has resulted in the email link to the online test taking a significant amount
of time to be received by candidates. Given this information, please allocate at least
1 additional hour to account for these delays. We apologize for any inconvenience
this may cause. If you have not received an email link after accounting for these
delays, please email CR-05Inventory-Inventaire@justice.gc.ca.

 Please note that due to the number of testers per session, your request may not be
answered immediately. We will address all issues before the end of your testing
session.

 You must click on the link in order to start your exam. Please note that the time
allotment for the exam will commence immediately once you access the link.

 Your answers will be saved when you click the “Next Page” button after required
fields are entered. You can move back to the previous page when you click the
“Previous Page” button. The “Save and Continue Later” button will exit you from the
exam.

 If you inadvertently exit the exam link by clicking the “Save and Continue Later”
button, you can re-enter it by accessing the original link that was sent to your E-mail.
Please note that additional time will not be allotted for you to re-enter the exam due
to this error.

 The exam links will deactivate at the end of the test session.

 Please read and follow ALL prompted instructions and notes within Simple Survey.

EXAM STRUCTURE:
 The exam structure requires you to meet the minimum pass mark on each part of
the exam in order to continue to the next part of the exam.
o You must achieve the minimum pass mark on Part 1 in order to receive the
exam link to Part 2.
o You must achieve the minimum pass mark on Part 2 in order to receive the
exam link to Part 3.

 The exam links to Part 2 and Part 3 will be emailed to you based on your test result
in the preceding part of the exam. Please note there may be a delay of up to ten (10)
minutes receiving the email link.

 If you do not receive an email link for Part 2 or Part 3, it is recommend you first
check your junk / spam folder. If you have not received the respective email link
within 10 minutes, please email CR-05Inventory-Inventaire@justice.gc.ca.

ADDITIONAL EXAM INFORMATION:


 You may complete the written exam in the Official Language of your choice (English
or French).

 Part 3 of the exam will require the use of Microsoft (MS) Word or a compatible
software. Save your work regularly to avoid losing text. Your document must be
saved in one of the following formats:
 .doc / .docx / .pdf

 You will be required to have your GC Jobs applicant number to complete the written
exam. It is recommended you ensure you have your applicant number prior to
commencing the written exam. The screen shot below demonstrates where you can
obtain your applicant number once logged into your GC Jobs account.

 If you do not submit your documents within the time allotted, you will be considered
as withdrawing from this exam.

RESCHEDULING / ACCOMMODATION REQUESTS:


 Please note that this assessment will only be rescheduled under exceptional
circumstances with supporting evidence (e.g. Illness (a medical certificate will be
required); Emergency Circumstances (verifiable); Operational Requirements (must
be verified in writing by your director); and Pre-Approved Annual Leave (must be
verified in writing by your supervisor). Failure to attend the testing session without
good reason will be construed as a withdrawal from the appointment process.

 Should you require accommodation during the assessment, you are strongly
encouraged to advise by e-mail: CR-05 Inventory at CR-05Inventory-
Inventaire@justice.gc.ca as early as possible so that appropriate arrangements may
be addressed.

 Indisposition of candidate:
a) If, prior to receiving the email exam, you experience physical or psychological
indisposition of sufficient severity to interfere with your test performance, it is
your responsibility to inform us that you cannot write the exam. You must
immediately send an email to CR-05Inventory-Inventaire@justice.gc.ca

b) If, you choose to write your exam despite such physical or psychological
indisposition, you must accept the results of the exam.

SECURITY / CONFIDENTIALITY / SUPPORT:

 All information concerning this exam including the exam is confidential and should
not be shared with others prior or post exam.

 There is to be no communication amongst candidates during or after this exam – this


will ensure the integrity of this exam.

 Please note that we will not answer any questions about the content of the exam.
