This assessment is designed to develop your skills in researching and presenting academic material in a chosen topic area, and will develop your knowledge of a specified
topic area.
- Introduction – set out the topic you are addressing and the areas likely to be covered. Useful here to set very succinct Organisational context. Aim for one
succinct paragraph.
- Main Body – discusses the various ideas in the chosen topic area, predominantly drawn from academic literature. Paragraphs will be substantial and usually
discuss a specific aspect or theme related to your topic. In this section it will gain better marks if all assertions you make with reference to literature. Use peer
reviewed academic journals wherever possible.
- Conclusion – provides a summative response to the intentions you set yourself in the paper. Typically a paragraph in length. Does not include any material not
already discussed.
Word count is from start of introduction to final word of conclusion. You may be 10% over the word count.
This is a piece of narrative writing so do not include tables, charts, pictures or appendices. They will not be read.
