Personal Intro

A majority part of my education was spent in boarding where co-curricular activities are an integral
part. I extensively participated in College Choir throughout nine years of boarding school in All Saints
College and Sherwood College in Nainital. I also participated in dramatics which gave me a revealing
platform for self expression . My participation in Trinity Guildhall Examination held by the Trinity
College,London for two consecutive years under the categories Communication Skills and Music and
Dance and Shaimak Dawar dance workshops honed my communication and expression abilities to a
great extent, As a sport Badminton has always been a great relaxant for me. My participation is
extended to Essay Competitions, Spell Bee and many other inhouse activities at the boarding school.

Reading happens to my foremost avocation. Dan Brown, George R.R Martin, J.R.R Tolkien are my
favourite authors and Realistic fiction and fantasy are my favourite genres. Some of my favourite
novels are Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell, The Da Vinci code by Dan Brown, The Book
Thief by Markus Zusak. In the future I wish to engage in economic policy making and development
and aspire to contribute to organizations working for the same on a national and international
level.Economics along with mathematics are my foremost academic interest. Mathematics today has
varied applications in the form of Data science and statistics in the field of economics and policy
making is also vocation I would like to engage in the future. Academics has been the forefront of my
achievements till date. I have a bright student since my early childhood hence graduated as the
Topper of my class in Sherwood College, Nainital in standard XII ISC examination. In the co-curricular
front have have been awarded Distinction in Trinity Guidhall Examination for communication skills
and music and dance.

2.Reasons to pursue BA eco

Economics has always been a subject of intrigue and interest to me. Interest in Economics has
enabled me to define various global and national events in beautiful erudite theory given by the
great thinkers of the time. The seamless applications of economics being a fundamental part of life
taking shape of various complex systems varying from personal finance to national economic policy
fascinates me. Another reason for my interest in is its ability to merge and touch the edges of various
subjects such as psychology, philosophy, history, data science,statistics,mathematics,international
relations,law and etc albeit maintaining in luminance and relevance as a academic forerunner giving
a diverse range for abstract though as well encouraging deep rational thinking and contemplation.
Economics interest me from both theoretical as well as professional point of view. Economics as a
subject has the ability to influence a large number of events inducing societal welfare and material as
well as psychological prosperity. In the future I would like to engage in a career which offers to the
possibility to contribute to organizations both government as well private which would enable me to
analyze various economic situations and formulate effective economic policy on both national and
international level. I nurture an interest towards pursuing a career in Indian Economic Services and
contribute to the prosperity and well being of my nation.

Mathematics has been a point of academic excellence and scholarship for me. Mathematics offers a
variety of application as a analytical tool in various fields including economics. Mathematics works at
the core of data science, econometric and financial analysis. Mathematics has staggering relevance in
various fields such as economics,banking and finance, actuarial studies and etc.As a student of
economics and commerce, mathematics has tremendous application in analytical study of various
aspects of economics and finance. Mathematics is also a integral part of new age technology relating
to machine learning and data science which can be effective tools in the formulation of economic
policy, financial planning and strategy in the near future.

I have spent valuable time lasting 9 years in All Saints College, Nainital and Sherwood College,Nainital
hence St Stephens College provides a similar environment to which I am accustomed to by virtue of
my upbringing. St Stephen's college is a distinguished institution providing globally renowned
education in arts and sciences. I am sure St Stephens will provide me a platform for academic
learning and scholarship and will be stepping stone for my future professional and academic
vocations. St Stephen's college has a galaxy of distinguished alumni such as Amartya Sen,Montek
Singh Ahluwalia and many others whose work in the field of economics is a testimony in greatness of
the institution. St Stephens college will provide me a avenue for research and learning in economics
and mathematics and will enable me to contribute to various organizations leading in research and
implementation of economic policy. I personally think affiliation with St Stephen's college will help
me face various challenges with a positive demeanor and solve various problems.
