A STUDY OF SOME ASPECTS OF MATHEMATICAL PROPERTIES OF COSMIC

MICROWAVE BACKGROUND (CMB) RADIATION

Nurshahidah Osman

OBJECTIVE
 To examine certain aspects of the mathematical properties of CMB radiation
 To categorize the various kinds of mathematical properties of CMB radiation discovered by
scientists in some systematic scheme.
 To better understand the plurality of mathematical models and the mathematical content of
the universe.

INTRODUCTION
Cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation is an important aspect of modern cosmology. It
is defined as a form of electromagnetic (EM) radiation filling the universe. This radiation has
both physical and mathematical properties. The purpose of this study is to examine certain
aspects of the mathematical properties of CMB radiation. There are many ways of understanding
mathematical properties or mathematical behavior of physical phenomena. Anything that is
mathematical is comprised of numbers and magnitudes or any relationship into which these
entities enter, for example mathematical formula [1-3].

Until now scientists have discovered various kinds of mathematical properties of CMB radiation
but the total knowledge of these properties has not been classified and systematized. What I
intend to do is to categorize these properties in some systematic scheme. Among the objectives
of my study is to better understand the mathematical model of the universe. It is my hope that by
studying the mathematical properties of CMB radiation, I can understand better the mathematical
content of the universe.

METHODOLOGY
 Theoretical (mathematical reasoning)
 Rational analysis (logical method) & synthesis

SIGNIFICANCE OF RESEARCH
 We can know better the origin and development of cosmos
 Contribute to the study of CMB radiation generally to cosmology and in particular to
radiation physics
