This lesson went very well, the students enjoyed the book very much and they enjoyed seeing the pictures of the
alpacas. Next time when I am reading a book I need to make sure that I do a finger song or movement video to tune
the students in.

Time Motivation and Introduction:
- Ask all students to sit criss cross, mountain or mermaid Macca the Alpaca
book
- Wait until all students are calm and ready before starting to talk
- Introduce the book, Macca the Alpaca Notes written on the
back of the book
- The author and illustrator is Matt Crosgrove
Lesson Steps (Lesson content, structure, strategies & Key Questions):

- Ask the students to remind you what the illustrator does


- Ask the students to remind you what the author does
- Read the book, remembering to vary your voice tone when reading
the book to keep the students engaged
- Once the book is read explain to the students how when I was their
age I lived on a farm
- Ask the students what animals they think live on a farm
- Tell the students on my farm we have sheep, horses, a cat, dogs and Photos of the alpacas

- Tell the students they there is 2 alpacas on my farm
- Their names are Barbara and Derek
- Show the students the photos

Lesson Closure:(Review lesson objectives with students)

- Then ask the students if they have any questions


- Ask 5 students

Transition: (What needs to happen prior to the next lesson?)


- Transition the students by showing them the sound card and ask
them to do the sound and the action, then ask them to wash their
hands and line up at the door

Assessment: (Were the lesson objectives met? How will these be judged?)
- While reading the book I will be able to see which students are able to
sit on the mat for the given time, I will also be able to note which
students have trouble sitting criss cross, mermaid or mountain and
are sitting in a ‘W’
