The Argument about the Construction of the Abhirupa Park
The construction of Abhirupa Park should be beneficial to the community. At the
beginning, many local residents opposed the process of building a park, because at that time the many illegal buildings belonging to local residents. Local residents felt that the construction of the park would make it difficult for their economies because they had to move from that place, because merit of park volunteers were successfully built without obstacles and debates, so it has now been proven that the development of Abhirupa Park brings an increase in economic value, value of tourism, and educational value. The construction of the Abhirupa Park is less profitable in terms of the economy. Its existence is often compared to commercial projects like malls and hotel which are considered more profitable. One thing must be realized is the existence of the Abhirupa Park must be seen as a long- term potential asset that has very valuable economic value for the present and the future, if the park is managed well, the positive aspects can have an impact on increasing land and property values. For example, Curtibas, a city in Brazil that is a proof of the success of spatial planning that puts green parks in urban areas ahead. Through various efforts and regional development, the city has succeeded in increasing the average per capita area from 1m² to 55m² for 30 years. As a result the city is now a productive city with a per capita income that has doubled. This shows the assumption that the construction of green parks aren’t profitable from an economic perspective is not proven. In addition, Abhirupa Park can’t yet be categorized as a tourism place that has high value of tourism, because facilities are very minimal. For example, inadequate worship facilities. The condition of worship facilities such as musholla must be considered in tourist attractions, because it is a package that must be fulfilled. Often, manager only highlight beauty without regard to the needs and comfort of the continuity of tourist worship. Such conditions can reduce value of tourism a tourist place. Although, facilities become obstacle to increasing high value of tourism, but Abhirupa Park is a favorite place for the surrounding community and is able to increase the value of tourist visits from local and outside city. Furthermore, Abhirupa park hasn’t provided educative value and is only limited to displaying a natural atmosphere. Even, Abhirupa Park as a park that has the purpose of educative value hasn’t been able to provide educational space like reading parks for tourist. Besides, Abhirupa park only presents beauty without being accompanied by an interpretation of what is unique. It will not provide educational benefits for tourists. They only come then take pictures without something that can be brought and shared without other people. Even though although, tourist can still add knowledge by learning the information boards and other media available in the park that explain how the park stands. So that, tourist don’t only tourism of selfie but have educational value in them. Therefore, the construction of a park that was initially considered detrimental to the local economy, if you think about the long-term development of the park will not only increase the value of the economy, tourism, and education. It will even bring benefits not only to the local residents but to many people.
