ABOUT NDA / NA DETAILS
DDA Dehradun is the Best NDA Coaching Institute in Dehradun (Uttarakhand), India. All students who aspire to
join NDA (National Defence Academy) can undertake coaching with Doon Defence Academy. The NDA entrance
exam is held twice a year, generally in the months of April and September. This examination is conducted by the
UPSC.
Union Public Service Commission releases notification for NDA and NA Examination in the month of January
and July every year. 12th passed or appearing Candidates from the age group of 16 ½ to 19 ½ can apply this. A
candidate must be an Unmarried male. The candidate joining NDA will undergo 4 years Educational & Military
Training (3 Years at NDA & 1 Year at IMA/AFA/NA) and those joining Naval Academy will undergo 4 years B. Tech course and would be
given an opportunity to join executive and technical branches of the Indian Navy subject to availability of vacancies. The exam will constitute 2
subjects, Math's and General Ability Test and each subject is given the time limit 2 ½ Hours, maximum marks for Math's is 300 & General
ability is 600. The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions only. The question papers of Mathematics & Part B of
General Ability Test will be set bilingually in Hindi as well as English. The Commission has discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the
subjects at the examination
After qualifying the written examination will be called for interview conducted by SSB (Service Selection Board) of Indian Army, Navy and by
Air Force Selection Boards. These SSB boards selects candidates for commissioned officer posts in Indian Armed Forces through SSB
interviews. Thus, if you want to become an officer in Indian Army, Air Force or Navy, you must crack SSB interview. SSB interview is
conducted for five days to test all Officers like Qualities in candidates.

(The Scheme and Syllabus of Examination)
A. SCHEME OF EXAMINATION
1. The subjects of the written examination, the time allowed and the maximum marks allotted to each subject will be as follows-
2. THE PAPERS IN ALL THE SUBJECTS WILL CONSIST OF OBJECTIVE TYPE QUESTIONS ONLY. THE QUESTION PAPERS
(TEST BOOKLETS) OF MATHEMATICS AND PART “B” OF GENERAL ABILITY TEST WILL BE SET BILINGUALLY IN HINDI
AS WELL AS ENGLISH.
3. In the question papers, wherever necessary, questions involving the metric system of Weights and Measures only will be set.
4. Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write answers for them.
5. The commission have discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects at the examination.
6. The candidates are not permitted to use calculator of Mathematical or logarithmic table for answering objective type papers (Test
Booklets). They should not therefore, bring the same inside the Examination Hall.

Concept of set, operations on sets, Venn diagrams. De Morgan laws, Cartesian product, relation, equivalence relation. Representation of
real numbers on a line. Complex numbers - basic properties, modulus, arguments, cube roots of unity. Binary system of numbers.
Conversion of a number in decimal system to binary system and vice-versa. Arithmetic, Geometric and Harmonic progressions. Quadratic
equations with real coefficients. Solution of linear inequations of two variables by graphs. Permutation and Combination. Binomial
theorem and its applications. Logarithms and their applications.
2. MATRICES AND DETERMINANTS
Types of matrices, operations on matrices. Determinant of a matrix, basic properties of determinants. Adjoint and inverse of a square
matrix, Applications-Solution of a system of linear equations in two or three unknowns by Cramer's rule and by Matrix Method.
3. TRIGONOMETRY
Angles and their measures in degrees and in radians. Trigonometrical ratios. Trigonometric identities Sum and difference formulae.

5. DIFFERENTIAL CALCULUS
Concept of a real valued function-domain, range and graph of a function. Composite functions, one to one, onto and inverse functions.
Notion of limit, Standard limits-examples. Continuity of functions - examples, algebraic operations on continuous functions. Derivative of
function at a point, geometrical and physical interpretation of a derivative- applications. Derivatives of sum, product and quotient of
functions, derivative of a function with respect to another function, derivative of a composite function. Second order derivatives.
Increasing and decreasing functions. Application of derivatives in problems of maxima and minima.
6. INTEGRAL CALCULUS AND DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS
Integration as inverse of differentiation, integration by substitution and by parts, standard integrals involving algebraic expressions,
trigonometric, exponential and hyperbolic functions. Evaluation of definite integrals-determination of areas of plane regions bounded by
curves - applications. Definition of order and degree of a differential equation, formation of a differential equation by examples. General
and particular solution of a differential equations, solution of first order and first degree differential equations of various types-examples.

7. VECTOR ALGEBRA
Vectors in two and three dimensions, magnitude and direction of a vector. Unit and null vectors, addition of vectors, scalar multiplication
of a vector, scalar product or dot product of two vectors. Vector product or cross product of two vectors. Applications - work done by a force
and moment of a force and in geometrical problems.
8. STATISTICS AND PROBABILITY
Statistics : Classification of data, Frequency distribution, cumulative frequency distribution - examples. Graphical representation -
Histogram, Pie Chart, frequency polygon - examples. Measures of Central tendency - Mean, median and mode. Variance and standard
deviation - determination and comparison. Correlation and regression.
Probability - Random experiment, outcomes and associated sample space, events, mutually exclusive and exhaustive events, impossible
and certain events. Union and Intersection of events. Complementaty, elementary and composite events. Definition of probability-simple
problems. Conditional probability, Bayes' theorem-simple problems. Random variable as function on a sample space. Binominal
distribution, examples of random experiments giving rise to Binominal distribution.

The question paper in English will be designed to test the candidate's understanding of English and workman like use of words. The

Section 'F' (Current Events) :
Knowledge of Important events that have happened in India in the recent years. Current important world events. Prominent personalities-both
Indian and International including those connected with cultural activities and sports.
Note - Out of maximum marks assigned to part 'B' of this paper, questions on Sections 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D', 'E' and 'F' will carry approximately
25%, 15%, 10%, 20%, 20% and 10% weightages respectively.
Intelligence and Personality Test :
The SSB procedure consists of two stage Selection process-stage I and stage II. Only those candidates who clear the stage I are permitted to
appear for stage II. The details are :
(a) Stage I comprise of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception *Description Test (PP&DT). The candidates will be
shortlisted based on combination of performance in OIR Test and PP & DT.
(b) Stage II Comprises of Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. These tests are conducted over 4
Days. The details of these tests are given on the website joinindianarmy.nic.in.
The personality of a candidate is assessed by the three different assessors viz. The Interviewing Officer (IO), Group Testing Officer
(GTO) and the Psychologist. There are no separate weightage for each test. The mks are allotted by assessors only after taking into
consideration the performance of the candidate holistically in all the test. In addition, marks for Conference are also alloted based on the
initial performance of the Candidate in the three techniques and decision of the Board. All these have equal weightage.

ABOUT INDIAN NAVY - AA/SSR DETAILS
The navy is a wonderful way of seeing the world while serving your country and building goodwill. If you're
willing to put up with the stresses of being on a ship and away from your loved ones for a long stretch of time, a
career in the Navy could be for you. There are two broad roles you can assume if you join the Navy: an Officer or
a Sailor.
OFFICER ENTRY : A commission with the Navy is similar to a commission with the army: entry can either be
through a Permanent Commission or a Short Service Commission.
For the permanent commission one must first write an exam conducted by the UPSC followed by an interview
with the Service Selection Board. However, those opting for a SSC may skip the written exam, as may those who
have enlisted through the National Cadet Corp special entry scheme (only for graduates).

Age : 17 - 19 yrs Qualification : 12th pass with 70% in PCM and 50% in English 10th or 12th Standard. or BE / B.Tech (Any discipline)
The duration of the Short Service Commission is 10 years, extendable to 14 years.
SAILOR ENTRY : Sailors are the sepoys of the Indian Navy. Recruits are inducted on the basis of a written test, followed by a physical
examination and a medical examination. There are several avenues of entry for a sailor:
[Artificer Apprentice (AA)] : The training emolument is Rs 6,200 per month and the pay is Rs 8,030 to Rs 19,700 pm.
Qualification : Qualified in 10+2 examination with 60% or more marks in aggregate with Maths & Physics and at least one of these subjects;
Chemistry/Biology/Computer science from an educational board recognized by Central/State Government.
Age : The age for Artificer Apprentice candidate should be between 17-20 years on the day of enrolment.
[Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR)] : The training emolument is Rs 4,500 per month and the pay is Rs 5,300 to Rs 16,000 pm.
Qualification : The SSR are similar to those of Artificer Apprentice. Age : 17-21 years on the day of enrolment.
Indian Navy (AA/SSR) Coaching is available in DDA. They are 03 Months Coaching
Note : SSB classes are free of coast for DDA students.

ABOUT INDIAN AIRFORCE GROUP ‘X’ - ‘Y’ DETAILS
The Indian Air Force is one of the jewels in the crown of India. With the latest, cutting edge technology

Indian Air Force Group X Exam is conducted for technical and non technical airmen vacancies in the
Air force who are deployed for ground based duties as per their trade.
AIRFORCE GROUP ‘X’ :
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed 10+2 in Mathematics, Physics and
English with minimum 50% marks OR Three years Diploma Course in Engineering in any stream
with minimum 50% marks from a Government recognised Polytechnic Institute. Age : 17-21 years
AIRFORCE GROUP ‘Y’:
Educational Qualification: Should have passed Class 10 + 2/Intermediate/Equivalent exam from an education board / Institute listed in
Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) website as members, in any stream/subjects with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and
50% marks in English as per the mark sheet of Class 10 + 2 / Intermediate /Equivalent exam. Age : 17-21 years
PAY : During training, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be paid. On completion of training the starting gross emoluments at the
minimum of scale of pay including Military Service Pay (MSP) and Group 'X' Pay {applicable for Group 'X' (Technical) Trades only}plus
Dearness Allowance (DA) will be as follows:
Group 'X' (Technical) Trade : Rs. 33,100/- per month (approximately) plus DA (as applicable) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the
career progression of the individual.
Group 'Y' (Non - Technical) Trade : Rs. 26,900/- per month (approximately) plus DA (as applicable) which, in subsequent years, may rise as
per the career progression of the individual.

STEP - I
Take out the print of application form from our website and filled the information which has asked in the application form
or make your short resume and send the same to our academy along with the following items.
i) Photocopy of your all educational qualification certificates.
ii) Domicile (Mool Niwas)/Caste certificate- If available.
iii) 02 latest passport size color photos.
iv) ID Proof (Aadhar Card / Driving License/Voter ID/School I Card or any
other Id proof)
v) Rs. 400/- DD or Cash(In the case of by hand only)for the registration fee. If
you want to send a demand draft, make it in favor of “Doon DefenceAcademy
- LLP”, payable at Dehradun.
Filled application form or resume along with the required documents and registration fee should send by Registry/
Courier/ Speed Post or by hand at the following address:-
