As Assistant Resident Engineer/Resident Engineer, was responsible for the construction
supervision of 70 km long Khajuri - Bewata Road Project. Also supervised for the 7 new bridges,
rehabilitation of 5 old bridges, Stone masonry 317 no. Culverts & numerous Retaining/Breast
walls Project cost Rs.1,200 million. Also responsible for quality assurance and execution of the
structure & road works, to keep well coordination among troika i.e. Employer, Consultant and
Contractor and amicable solution of local area problems often emerged due to Tribal Norms in
Project area.

Panah Dual Carriageway Section
Year: August 2002 - March, 2003

Activities Performed:
As Assistant Resident Engineer (Structure) on 80 Kms long Rahim Yar Khan – Tarindah
Muhammad Panah Dual Carriageway Section, responsible to the execution of 4 nos. Canal
Bridges with 1 Km approach road on each side along with cast-in-place center median, pipe
culverts for irrigation channels, slab culverts and side drain etc. To control diverse activities at
numerous scattered locations and coordination between Employer and Contractor for timely
completion of the Project.

Year: November, 2001 - July, 2002
Positions held: Assistant Resident Engineer
Activities Performed:
As Assistant Resident Engineer supervised the execution of road works, side drain, culverts, 2
number bridges and related works on Bund Road Project Lahore. This worn out and ramshackle
antique of Lahore was widened and totally rehabilitated. At Babu Sabu drain and Chota Ravi
drain the existing bridges were extended by 8 m while choosing different type of construction as
compared to previous one. Assisted the Resident Engineer in preparation of Revised Bill of
Quantities, IPC and Progress Report.

Year: September, 2000 - October, 2001.

Project, managed the whole office proceedings and field activities as well. Approximately 4m
existing track was widened to 8m and further its snacked and steep geometry was made
comfortable. To stable the cut slopes and road fill, breast walls and retaining walls were
constructed. Masonry culverts, causeways and side drains were also supervised to ensure free
drainage in that mountainous terrain.

Name of Assignment or Project: Kutchehry Chowk Flyover Multan Project.


Year: December, 1999 - August, 2000

Activities Performed:
As Assistant Resident Engineer / Resident Engineer on Kutchehry Chowk Flyover Multan
Project. Responsible to manage the whole project which also includes the relocation of utilities
and massive land acquisition. In addition to structure and roads. 17.2 m hammerhead transom
with 7.47 m cantilever arm on either side of single shaft with varying grooves is introduced for
first time in Pakistan. 1200 mm diameter piles were bored amongst a network of live utilities to
save time. Hexagonal Pilecaps grooved single shaft, prestressed girders with reverse curve in
the alignment made it excellent and worth admiring. Also responsible for whole site and office
activities and take care of Client’s interest while keeping in view the site progress.

Name of Assignment or Project: Sherpao Bridge Extension and kink removal adventure
Year: July, 1999 - November, 1999
Positions held: Bridge/ Resident Engineer
Activities Performed:
As Bridge Engineer on Sherpao Bridge Extension and kink removal adventure, responsible to
manage the whole project which comprises of cantilever transoms, R.C. beams (Insitu and
precast), Prestressed Girders, Pier walls, Deck Slabs having total length of 915 m. The
Uniqueness in this task is to match the new one with functional 25 years masonry old arch
bridge. Also to relocate utilities, removal of encroachments, liaison with designer to furnish the
site requirements because of existing bridge and to take site decisions because of emergentic
nature of project.

Name of Assignment or Project: University Campus Underpass


Year: April, 1999 - July, 1999
Location: Pakistan
Positions held: Bridge/ Resident Engineer
Activities Performed:
As Bridge Engineer for construction supervision of University Campus Underpass handling piles,
deck slab with concealed beams, rigid pavement, retaining wall, curtain grouting, gantry posts
and pump house to drain out the accumulated water of rain and seepage from canal. This
project costing 160 Million was completed in record period of 3-½ months and lauded by the
Punjab Chief Minister and in general got the applause of public. Approach and slip roads were
also integral part of project.

Year: April, 1998 - February, 1999


Positions held: Site Incharge
Activities Performed:
As sole representative from Client, I was duty bound to provide shop drawings and site
instructions to the contractor for survey, road alignment, material testing, economic use of 1482
kanals society land for maximum plots, plantation in the society etc. The project include roads,
Sewerage, water supply, 100,000 gallons overhead water tank, culverts, buildings, fencing,
drainage works etc.

Name of Assignment or Project: Jhelum overhead Bridge


Year: November, 1996 - March, 1998
Positions held: Site Engineer
Activities Performed:
As Site Engineer on Jhelum overhead Bridge engaged from piling to railing having total length of
700 m. Work includes piling by percussion method, 1.5 m dia columns, post-tensioned Girders
varying from 15 m to 35 m length, post tensioned gap slab and diaphragms. Also preparation of
methodologies for post tentioning, Launching of Girders, design mixes, Progress reports, Interim

Payment Certificates and coordinating day to day works with Client. Retaining walls and
approach roads were also part of project.

Name of Assignment or Project: Upper Jhelum Canal Bridge


Year: November, 1992 - November, 1996
Positions held: Site Engineer
Activities Performed:
As Site Engineer responsible for construction of 22 span 1000 m. in length Jhelum River Bridge
and 10 span (110 m. Upper Jhelum Canal Bridge). 2 m. dia pile with bentonite, 45 m. long post-
tensioned girders (double staged) of 2.5 m. height, post tensioned gap slab with diaphragms
from one end, 2 km approach roads with guide bank along abutment were shaped in form of
mammoth river bridge.
Pile by wash boring in running water by pantone carrying rig, precast R.C. beams, precast deck
slab panel to avoid shuttering which were later on incorporated in insitu deck slab were used for
Upper Jhelum Canal Bridge, centering of pile in running water of canal was really enterprising. In
precasting yard complete box culverts and portions of slab culverts were also looked after by
me.
