Value Driven LeadershipTM

High Performing Leaders = High Performing Organisations
For a leader to be considered successful, they must have an impact on the
performance of the organisation. Our leadership development model impacts on
organisational performance by focusing on the values of leaders and followers,
forming the links of engagement that lead to increased performance

Four Stage Model

Our interconnecting four stage model is developed from work by many key authors
on leadership, notably Tom Rath, Robert Kelly and Barry Conchie. This theory has
been combined with our experience as both leaders of organisations and developers
of leaders, resulting in a development process that impacts on organisational
performance.

Stage 1 - The characteristics of leaders that make people follow them

We look at the basic needs that followers have of their leaders. This is the right CHANGE BECOME A PARTNER IN SOCIAL

customers, likewise if you want to know what makes a good leader you talk to their

These characteristics are not necessarily the ones you would expect, but are based
on extensive research into the field of leadership. They have been found to be the
characteristics that result in:

• Improved motivation and engagement

• Improved productivity
• Increased efficiency

Stage 2 - Building on Strengths

Research shows that if people understand their strengths, and use them, they are
more likely to be motivated and productive.

Leaders need to understand their strengths and those of their teams to create a
high performance environment where everyone understands and uses each other's
strengths to focus on achieving outcomes

Stage 3 - Followship Behaviours

The ways people follow a leader are based on two criteria, how active or passive
they are and how dependent or independent they are. Great leaders have followers
that are active and independent, i.e. they are contributors.

By focusing on stage 1 followers become active, and by focusing on stage 2 they

become independent.

Stage 4 - Leadership Strength Development

The first three stages described develop the environement for excellent leadership
and high performing organisations. To supplement and embed this, we work with
leaders to futher development them in four key domains of leadership, namely:

• Strategic Thinking
• Executing
• Influencing
• Relationship Building

The development process combines workshops, masterclasses, coaching, action

learning and personality and psychometric assessments. The stage 4 development
shows the key themes of work, but the exact nature of the development is
designed after assessment so it is tailored to individuals.
