Introduction
What is Killa Gorilla FX Master ?
Killa Gorilla FX Master (also known as an “Expert Advisor” or “EA” for short)
has been developed to be used on the Metaquotes MetaTrader 4 (MT4) Forex
Trading Platform. EAs (or robots) are programs that allow automation of the
analytical and trading processes in the MT4 platform. Robots can open and
close orders based on certain criteria or calculations that it has been
programmed to do. Robots are capable of opening and closing orders much
faster than any human could possibly do, and they can do this 24 hours a day.
Robots never sleep, never get tired and don’t have human emotions, which
makes for an ideal trading tool.

Killa Gorilla FX Master is a high frequency trading robot that opens and closes
thousands of orders per month. It is unique in that it can be configured in
many thousands of ways to conform to your own particular trading style or
preferences. It can generate huge profits, depending on the size of your
account balance and your risk appetite. It can also be used to generate smaller
profits using lower risk settings.

Killa Gorilla FX Master works with any currency, but the robot performs best
with currency pairs that trade within a certain range (ranging pairs). It works
well when the price is moving up and down within a range without too much
trend in the one direction (although some trending produces higher profit
results).

Killa Gorilla FX Master trades with baskets of trades of both Buy and Sell orders
simultaneously, capturing profits in both directions when the price goes up and
down.

It has various Stop Loss features to protect your account at all times. It takes
profit at various levels that you set in the parameters.

The robot can be programmed to trade only certain hours and days of the
week, or it can be set to run continuously 24 hours, 5 days per week (when the
Forex markets are open).

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 3

It also features a News Filter which can be used to stop trading for a period of
time before and after upcoming financial and economic news events if desired,
to minimise risk exposure during volatile market periods.

Killa Gorilla FX Master also incorporates Spike and Trend Protection technology
which is used to detect spikes and trends in the market which alerts the robot
to not open any new trades during these periods.

There are many more features and functions that will be explained later in
more detail.

Why did we build it?
After spending more than 3 years relentlessly scouring the internet, searching
for a good, solid, profitable Forex robot, not to mention the countless hours of
testing free and paid robots, we finally concluded that there isn’t one robot
out there that will suit our needs and our profit desires.

While some robots showed profit over a long period with low risk, the profits
were only marginally better than what you’d expect to earn from a bank, and
some robots would go on for days without placing even 1 trade. This just
wasn’t what we were looking for.

Therefore, we decided to develop our own robot exactly the way we wanted it.
It needed to be highly profitable, but most importantly, it had to maintain the
account balance with as little risk as possible. Because, as all Forex traders
know, you can’t have a high return without a certain level of risk!

It has been in development now for over 2 years and is constantly being
improved. It was never intended to be released to the general public – we only
developed it to use for our own purposes, but then thought if it works well and
makes money for us, then why not put this product on the market so others
can make money as well. Let’s face it, the Forex market turns over around $3
trillion per day; not per year… per day! So why not let others also profit from
this massive market – there is enough money to be made…. if you have the
right vehicle. No one robot will EVER EVER EVER saturate the market, despite
what other robot experts may tell you.

We have created this user manual to provide you with the instructions you
need to successfully set up and start trading with Killa Gorilla FX Master.

However which way you choose to trade with Killa Gorilla FX Master, our
paramount goal is to help you generate stable and steady profits whilst
maintaining account sustainability.

Wishing you every success in FX,

James Cross

1. Killa Gorilla FX Master
1.1. The Facts…
• Killa Gorilla FX Master is a High Frequency Trading (HFT) robot, based on
price-action. The robot will start placing trades within seconds of
starting.

• This type of robot is what we call a basket-trading robot, with elements

of Martingale and Grid systems, and has Stop Loss and other safety
features to minimise losses during the normal trading process.

• As with any FX robot, although it is not essential that you have

experience trading in the Forex market, it is highly recommended that
you have some experience trading and understand all the risks and
exposures associated with trading real money with a Forex broker.

• You can start trading with as little as $1,000, but we recommended that
you have at least a $5,000 - 10,000 starting balance to trade with. We
can guide you through this and provide you with settings appropriate to
your account balance and goals.

• Killa Gorilla FX Master is compatible with all types of MT4 brokers, but
preferably ECN brokers who provide ECN MT4 trading account types.
Our recommended broker is IC Markets as they have very low spreads,
good trading conditions, allow hedging robots and HFT robots. Other
recommended brokers are soon to come – when we are satisfied with
their trading conditions and terms, only then will we recommend them
to our customers.

• You may run the robot on a VPS, but it is not essential.

• You need a good, reliable internet connection (such as ADSL, cable, or

3G/4G) and a middle of the range PC/laptop (preferably 5 years old or
less). We recommend running it on Microsoft Windows 7 operating
system or later.

• The robot settings are highly configurable and can be extremely

sensitive. We will provide you with several recommended
settings/preset files to use depending on your risk/return appetite, but it

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 6

is highly recommended that you test, re-test and re-re-test on demo
accounts before you decide to trade on a real account.

• Killa Gorilla FX Master will work on ALL major currency pairs, but we
recommend the EURUSD due to its low spread and liquidity.

• Killa Gorilla FX Master is most profitable in ranging markets, so try to

avoid trending pairs and trending sessions.

• The robot will open and close trades for you automatically – you do not
need to monitor trading (although it is exciting to watch it trade).

• The safest time to trade is during the quiet sessions (Asian sessions), or
sessions when the least trending occurs in the one direction.

• The most profitable times to trade are in volatile sessions, as long as it is

in a relatively ranging market.

• The built-in news filter monitors economic news releases which is pre-
configured to tell the robot when not to trade so that it can avoid the
large possible price movements around and during these times.

• Killa Gorilla FX Master has the ability to make anywhere from $50 to
$10,000+ per day, depending on your risk settings and starting balance.
As your balance grows, you can choose to either withdraw your profits
or leave profits there and increase your risk settings to grow your
balance faster.

• It is suitable for all traders, both novice and professional, and low,
medium or high-return traders.

• By no means will you need any special knowledge or skills to install and
successfully run Killa Gorilla FX Master.

• Keep in mind that even though Killa Gorilla FX Master can yield
incredible profits when using the correct settings, it is not recommended
to do so unless you have a large account balance and a large risk
appetite. If you wish to trade this way, it would be best to choose your
times to trade based on market volume and volatility – recommended
times are during the quiet market sessions and when there are no
medium and high impact news events due to be released affecting the
currencies you wish to trade.

1.2. How does it work?

1.2.1. Basic Strategy

Killa Gorilla FX Master is a High Frequency Trading (HFT) robot. It opens orders
immediately on start-up in both directions and waits for the price to move in
one direction until one of the orders reaches its Take Profit (TP) level. As for
the other order that has not reached TP, the robot will keep opening orders at
different levels until the price eventually turns around and reaches TP, at
which point all levels of orders will close and make a net profit.

1.2.2. Detailed Strategy

When the EA is first started by the “AutoTrading” button in the MT4 platform,
Killa Gorilla FX Master opens orders immediately. It opens orders that form
part of a basket of orders, and that are based on price-action. It does not
analyse the market and wait until a specific criteria is met before placing a
trade.

When the default settings are used, the robot will open 2 orders immediately –
a buy order and a sell order. This is the first level of the “buy basket” and “sell
basket”. The robot waits for the price to move in one direction or another.
The price will eventually reach the TP level of one of the orders, and that order
(or basket) will close. The robot will then open a fresh basket of the same type
(Buy or Sell) at level 1 again and restart the process.

As for the other order that has not reached TP and is still open, the value of it
will start to go negative where it may reach a point when the robot will then
open the 2nd level of the basket with a slightly higher lot size than the 1st level.
A new TP level will be set for all the orders in that basket. If the price keeps
going in the same direction, the robot will then open a 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc., setting
a new TP level each time for all orders in the basket. The idea is that the price
should eventually turn around and reach the TP level of all the orders in that
basket and close with a net profit. Depending on your settings, the larger (or
more levels) a basket is when it closes, the more net profit will be made from
that basket.

The robot can trade with only one set of baskets (1 x Buy basket and 1 x Sell
basket), or it can trade with multiple sets of baskets for higher profits.

Killa Gorilla FX Master is highly configurable with many parameters, and there
are literally thousands of combinations of settings that can be used – but it’s all
about finding the right combination of settings that work for you!

We can provide you with recommended settings, but it is important to

understand that many factors contribute to the success/performance of the
robot, such as the forex broker you use, the account type, the broker’s fees,
commissions, spreads, your account balance, your trading account base
currency, latency (delay/lag of communication between your MT4 platform
and your broker’s MT4 server), your emotions and whether or not you
intervene, and the list goes on. There are many factors that contribute to the
robot’s performance. So what may work well for one trader may not work well
for another trader. This is why it’s best to do your own thorough testing of the
robot and settings in your own trading environment, using demo accounts
before trading live.

2. Using Your Own PC or a VPS?
Before we get into installing MT4 and Killa Gorilla FX Master, you need to
decide where you want to have your robot installed and running.

There are 2 main options where you can run Killa Gorilla FX Master:

1) On your own PC/laptop

2) On a Virtual Private Server (VPS)

2.1. What is a VPS?

It is important that the robot can be run continually on your account, especially
when you are running a live account with real money.

A VPS is a special type of server which is housed on the same computer as

several other VPSs —this is why they are termed “virtual.” A VPS may be
located in a building somewhere in your city, your country, or somewhere else
in the world.

With your own VPS, you can install an operating system of your choice on it,
have the power to reboot your system, and basically have full control over it as
if it were on your desk at your home or office. You’re guaranteed a certain
amount of space, RAM, and transfer allowance per month. Your VPS has its
own dedicated power supply and offers flexibility, stability, and convenience.
You can install MT4 and Killa Gorilla FX Master remotely from any PC with an
internet connection.

Here are some reasons why you might want to consider trading on a VPS
instead of trading on your own computer directly:

1) Trade anywhere - If you have access to a desktop PC or laptop with

internet connectivity, you can connect to your VPS and MT4 platform
from anywhere, even a hotel, internet café, or even camping in the
woods (providing you have adequate mobile internet access).

2) Trade even if your power goes out – Because your robot is running on
MT4 in another location, it doesn’t matter if your own power goes out.
Your robot will continue to trade automatically. You can log back into
the VPS when your power and internet are back up and running. It will

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 10

be like nothing happened. You can let it continue making money for you
even if you can’t get online.

3) Trade at any time of day - Since you’re not confined to your desk and
you can trade anywhere, and since your system can execute trades even
if your computer is off, you can feel more comfortable trading even
while you’re asleep.

4) Robust security – most VPS systems also come with top security.
Managed VPS servers are checked regularly to make sure that they are
functioning, and most companies guarantee 99.9 percent uptime. You
also generally receive antivirus and other tools to ensure your system is
safe from vulnerabilities.

5) Reduce your slippage – This is one of the biggest single advantages that
you can have with running your robot on a VPS compared to running on
your own PC. A VPS can execute your trades more quickly than your
computer can because it is much faster transmitting the orders,
generally because the VPS is much closer to the broker’s MT4 servers
than you are. The result is that you experience less of a delay and less
slippage. As we all know, slippage costs money, sometimes a lot of it, so
this is a great way to reduce your losses and unpredictability.

2.2. Choosing a good VPS

First, see if your broker has VPS services they can provide or if they
recommend a VPS company to go with. Some brokers will offer a discount and
sometimes free VPS services if you open a live account with them and meet
certain monthly trade requirements.

One of the most important factors when choosing a VPS service is knowing the
location of their servers and how close they are located to your broker’s MT4
servers. The closer your VPS server is to your broker’s live MT4 server, the
faster order execution will be, thus less slippage, which means less losses and
more profits. Low latency is the key! Latency is the delay in time in which
servers communicate with each other. The lower latency a VPS has with the
MT4 server, the faster trades will be made and thus less slippage.

Just as an example – the latency of a typical desktop PC at a residential address

in New Zealand might be 250 milliseconds (or ¼ of a second), and the latency

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 11

of a VPS in New York (which is located within 100-200 metres of a datacentre
backbone) could be as little as 0-1 milliseconds.

VPS service providers that we recommend:

1) IC Markets:
https://www.icmarkets.com/?camp=4349
IC Markets also offer a FREE VPS service when you open a live
account.

2) Qubbit.com:

Check out other VPS reviews on Google to find the best hosts and enquire
about how many system resources you actually need before you purchase a
plan.

4. Setting Up for Trading
4.1. Opening a Real/Demo account with one of our
Recommended Brokers
Before you can start using the robot on a real or demo account, you will need
to open a trading account with one of our recommended FX brokers. Please
make sure you open your new MT4 trading account by clicking on one of the
banners in the link below, even if you currently have a trading account with
them, otherwise your MT4 account numbers will not successfully activate in
our system.

Click the link below to visit our Recommended Brokers, then carefully follow
the instructions on how to open an account with them:

Recommended Brokers:
https://www.killa-gorilla.com/recommended-brokers

The recommended FX brokers we offer have been carefully selected for a

number of reasons:

• Good trading conditions and environment

• Fast execution of orders

• Reliable and honest FX broker

• Our robots are optimised to work with them

4.3. Setting up Killa Gorilla FX Master in MT4
As soon as you have received the confirmation email from us, verifying that
your real/demo account numbers have been registered in our system, you can
start using your robot!

1. Open MT4 (if not already open).

2. Close any existing charts that may be open – it’s best to start with a
clean slate with no overlays or indicators running.

3. If you will be using the robot’s News Filter function, you need to tell the
robot where it needs to access the economic news calendar…. For
details on how to do this, follow the instructions in Section 11: News
Filtering in 6.2 Understanding the robot’s settings.

4. Login to your MT4 platform with the same real/demo account that you
registered with us.

5. Open a new currency chart, such as the EURUSD chart. You may wish to
change to the timeframe from H1 to M1, but this is not necessary.

6. In the Navigator panel on the left, expand the Expert Advisors folder.
You should see the "Killa-Gorilla_MasterEA" or something similar there.

7. Click and drag “Killa-Gorilla_FXMaster” onto the chart you just opened
and release the mouse button. The expert dialogue window will appear.

8. Click on the Common tab and ensure that “Allow DLL imports” is
checked.

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 21

9. Click on the Inputs tab. This is where you can modify the robot’s settings
or load settings from a settings file. See Configuring Killa Gorilla FX
Master to trade for further information on using any of the available
settings files on our website under Resources. You can leave the default
settings as they are if you want to start testing on a demo account, but it
is best to develop your own settings that best suits your trading style if
you are to trade on a real money account. Click OK to continue.

10.After a few seconds, you will see a small progress bar appear on your
screen. Your account is being cross-checked with our validation server.
If your account number has been successfully validated, you will then
see the blue KG-Master Info Panel appear in the top left of the chart, like
the image below.

You are now ready to run the robot!

6. Configuring Killa Gorilla FX
Master to trade
Killa Gorilla FX Master is unique in that it can be configured in many thousands,
if not millions, of ways to conform to your own particular trading style or
preferences. It can generate huge profits, depending on the size of your
account balance and your risk appetite. It can also generate smaller profits
using lower risk settings.

As there are so many different combinations and settings for this robot, it is
imperative that you do a lot of forward testing in a demo account, using a good
ECN broker with low spreads prior to running the robot on a real/live trading
account. You should familiarize yourself with the EA and its operations before
trading live.

6.1. Preset Files

The robot’s settings can be saved/loaded from a file. To get you started, we
have provided a number of preset files that you can start using without
needing to know what every parameter does.

When you installed the setup package, several preset files may have also been
installed in the \MQL4\Presets folder. If they are not there, then we have
made them available from the website. This folder is located in the install
location of your MT4 application. The folder location should look something
like this:

C:\Users\JimmyCross\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\946117
DEE2FB92ACD03357D07729CD12\MQL4\Presets

Another way of accessing this folder is:

1. Click on File on the top menu bar, then Open Data Folder

2. From the file folders that appear, double-click MQL4, then Presets

Here you will see a list of preset files that you can use to experiment with.

You can also load any of these preset files directly into the robot when you
click the Load button in the Expert window’s Inputs tab.

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 25

These settings are provided to you for education and experimentation
purposes only. It is highly recommended that you formulate your own settings
depending on your own trading style. If you use any of these settings on your
live trading account, you are doing so at your own risk, as all forex trading
carries their own sets of risks.

We have developed these after many hours of testing and tweaking. We have
categorised them by risk/reward level, so that you can choose which settings
are best suited to your trading needs. There will never be one set of perfect
settings. Each preset file has its own set of pros and cons, so it's highly
recommended that if you do choose to use any of these preset files, you do
plenty of testing over a period of time so you can understand how the robot
performs using the chosen settings. As with all preset files, you may adjust the
settings any way you wish and then save them.

To view the key features of each preset file included with the robot, go here:

https://www.killa-gorilla.com/preset-files-killa-gorilla-masterea

To Load or Save preset files:

1. Open the expert’s settings window by clicking on the small face icon (top
right of chart).

2. Click on the Inputs tab

3. Load or save the settings by clicking either of the following buttons

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 26

6.2. Understanding the robot’s settings

When you first open the Input tab in the robot’s settings window, you will see
an overwhelming list of parameters. Don’t worry – you do not need to
understand all of them. Killa Gorilla FX Master is highly configurable and we
have designed it that way. We want you to be able to customise the robot
exactly the way you want to, or simply use our formulated preset files to start
with as a base, then modify them as you wish – it is totally up to you!

All settings can be modified, but only modify them when you understand what
each parameter does, and after you change the settings, ALWAYS test the new
settings on a demo account before running on a real account.

Notes to consider in descriptions:

- When referring to a “basket” or “double basket”, it means 1 Buy basket

and 1 Sell basket. Example: 6 buy baskets and 6 sell baskets are referred to
as 6 baskets.

- The highlighted parameters are key parameters in the robot’s settings and
are the more commonly modified settings which provide the greatest
variance in results.

- If you don’t fully understand a parameter’s value or its implication, then

leave the default value set as is.

Section 1: Initial Configuration

same as the other charts. Having a unique magic
number in each chart allows multiple charts,
therefore multiple instances of the robot can run
effectively on the one account.

Example: Your first chart might be “1111”, your

second chart might be “2222”, third chart “3333”,
and so on.

Slippage 3 The maximum amount of slippage the robot will

allow when opening orders. If the slippage is greater
than this, new orders will not be opened.

Filling Mode 2 Leave this set to 2.

Section 2: Order Opening Settings

Variable Default Description

Value

Seconds delay 0 Time delay in seconds between opening new

between initial baskets. Leaving the value set to 0 will
opening initial allow new baskets to open immediately. This
baskets parameter is only relevant when the “Maximum
number of baskets to open” is more than 1.

Pips delay 0 Same as in Seconds Delay (above), except in pips.

simultaneously

Minimum secs. 0 This is the delay in seconds between the opening

delay between of the next level in a basket. It is designed to slow
levels down the opening of new levels when there is fast
movement in the price.

Initial number of 1 This parameter works with the next parameter,

baskets to open “Maximum number of baskets to open”. If
“Maximum number of baskets to open” is more
than 1, then you can choose how many baskets
you want to open initially.

Example: if “Maximum number of baskets to

open” is set to 6, then you may want to only open
3 of those 6 immediately when the robot starts,

then the remaining number of baskets will open
over time, when other baskets have closed.

Maximum 1 This is the maximum number of baskets you want

number of the robot to open for you. Please be aware that
baskets to open the greater number of baskets the robot opens,
the more orders will be opened, therefore
creating a greater risk exposure. You may
increase this number for larger profits, but ensure
you have an appropriate starting balance.
Experiment with this setting in a demo account.

Maximum 15 This is the maximum number of levels you will

number of levels allow the robot to open in each basket. Please
per basket note that the larger the number of levels per
basket, the more orders may be opened. The
maximum number you can set here is 20.

Example: if you have the “Maximum number of

baskets to open” set to 3 and the “Maximum
number of levels per basket” set to 15, in theory
you could have a maximum of 15 Buy orders and
15 Sell orders per double basket which is a total of
30 orders. And if you have a maximum of 3
baskets, that is 3 x 30 = 90 maximum possible
orders opened. In reality, it would not reach this
maximum because as the price travels in a
direction, orders and baskets are being closed as
they hit their take profit levels.

Maximum 200 This is the maximum number of orders you wish

number of the robot to have open at any one time. This
orders per chart allows you to put a limitation on the number of
current orders open. If you do reduce this
number, keep in mind that you may not be
allowing the robot to operate at its optimum
performance because it may need to open more
orders in a basket to allow it to reach its desired
TP for the entire basket when it closes and makes
a profit.

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 30

Note: Also keep in mind that the MT4 platform
only allows a maximum of 200 orders at any one
time. It’s recommended to leave this setting at
200.

Section 3: RSI Settings

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is a momentum indicator that compares the
magnitude of recent gains and losses over a specified time period to measure
speed and change of price movements in a currency.

Variable Default Description

Value

RSI Period 14 The default setting used by most traders for the RSI is
14. That means that the indicator will go back 14
periods or time frames based on the chart being used
(14 days on a Daily chart, 14 minutes on a minute
chart, etc.) and make its calculation based on that.
It’s best to keep the default value.

RSI Upper (0 0 If value is 0, then this parameter is disabled. Any

is disabled) value other than 0, enables this parameter.

Example: If this value is 70, this means that when the

RSI upper value goes above 70, the robot will not
open any more orders. Once the RSI upper value
drops below 70, the robot will start opening orders as
normal.

RSI Lower (0 0 If value is 0, then this parameter is disabled. Any

is disabled) value other than 0, enables this parameter.

Example: If this value is 30, this means that when the

RSI lower value goes below 30, the robot will not
open any more orders. Once the RSI lower value goes
above 30, the robot will start opening orders as
normal.

Section 4: Lot Size Settings

Variable Default Description

Value

Starting lot 0.01 This is the lot size that the robot will open for the
size for first first level in the basket. 0.01 is recommended. Be
level in basket careful when using this parameter - greater starting
lot sizes may be used with larger account balances
for greater profits, but also carry greater risk.

Example: when starting with a first level lot size of

0.01 lots in a 15 level basket, the total basket’s lot
size will be about 8.74 lots. If you started with a 0.02
lot size for the first level, the total basket’s lot size
will be about 17.48 lots.

Multiplier for 1.5 The robot uses this multiplier to determine the next
each level in order’s lot size in the basket.
basket
Example: the lot size of the order at the 5th level
might currently be 0.05 lots. Using a multiplier of
1.5, the lot size of the order at the 6th level will be
0.05 x 1.5 = 0.0759 lots. Because the smallest lot size
that MT4 works with is 0.01 increments, MT4 will
round up/down to the nearest whole increment,
which will be 0.08.

Level 1: 0 The lot size of each level of the basket from 1

Additional through 20 can be increased by adding extra
Percentage to percentage to any particular level. The advantage is
the lot (%) that it will bring the TP level closer and also make a
greater profit when the TP is reached. The downside
through to is that a larger lot size brings greater risk exposure
Level 20: and also the higher levels will each have a greater lot
Additional size.
Percentage to Note: If the price keeps going in the unfavourable
the lot (%) direction and not touching TP at the level with extra
percentage and the next level opens up and it has
not had an extra percentage added, then the TP

target will be sent out further to make up for the
previous larger lot size. Care should be taken when
adding extra percentages.

for Level 1 level, you must change the value of the
previous value above to “0”. You can then

Take Profit value Level 1 through to Level 20. Using these
for Level 20 specific TP values at each level means that the
“Maximum number of levels per basket” value
can be no more than 20.

Section 6: Pip Step Settings

Variable Default Description

Value

Enable Dynamic false If set to “true”, the robot will calculate the pip step
Step Calculation to be used for each level based on the current price
movement. This means that the next 2 variables in
the settings will be disabled.

If set to “false”, then you must manually enter a

fixed pip step that will be used for every level in the
basket. Enter this pip step value in the next
parameter in the list, “Step value between levels if
Dynamic Step is false”.

Step value 0 This setting is disabled if “Enable Dynamic Step

between levels Calculation” is set to “true”.
if Dynamic Step
is false If the above parameter is set to “false”, then you
must manually enter a fixed pip step that will be
used for every level in the basket. The pip step
value is used to determine when the next level in
the basket is to open. The pip step is the distance
between the opening price of each level in the
basket.

Example: let’s say the pip step value is set to 25

and the robot opens a buy order at the price of
1.13500, if the price goes down, it will open the
next level at 1.13475, and so on.

through to
The pip step of each level of the basket from 1
Level 20 Pipstep through 20 can be customised. You need to enter
Value a specific value at every level that you have in a
basket.

Example: if you have “Maximum number of levels

per basket” set to 5, then you must enter a pip step
value in every level from 1 through to 5. You can
leave levels 6 through to 20 at the default of 0.

Using these specific pip steps at each level means

that the “Maximum number of levels per basket”
value can be no more than 20.

Section 7: Spike/Trend Protection

Variable Default Description

Value

Enable Spike true Spike Protection is a safety measure used to

Protection prevent the rapid opening of new levels during
times of volatility when price spikes occur.

When Spike Protection is triggered, the robot will

cease to open any new orders, except existing
orders/baskets may still close during this time.

If set to “false”, Spike Protection is not enabled.

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 35

If set to “true”, Spike Protection is enabled, and the
next 3 parameters in the settings will be enabled
and you must enter values there.

Spike 150 This setting is enabled if “Enable Spike Protection”

movement in is set to “true” and works together with the next
points is parameter, “Spike movement in ticks is LESS than”.
GREATER than
Both of the following parameters’ conditions must
be met in order for Spike Protection to trigger:

- “Spike movement in points is GREATER than”

- “Spike movement in ticks is LESS than”

Example: Let’s say:

“Spike movement in points is GREATER than” = 200

“Spike movement in ticks is LESS than” = 10

From the above example, Spike Protection will

trigger only when the price moves more than 200
points AND it happens in less than 10 ticks.

Spike 10 This setting is enabled if “Enable Spike Protection”

movement in is set to “true” and works together with the
ticks is LESS previous parameter, “Spike movement in points is
than GREATER than”.

See above for explanation.

Wait X minutes 10 This setting is enabled if “Enable Spike Protection”

before opening is set to “true”.
new trade after
Spike Once Spike Protection is triggered, this value tells
the robot to wait for a specified number of minutes
before opening new orders again.

Example: if set to 10, the robot will not open any

orders for a period of 10 minutes from when Spike
Protection was triggered.

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 36

Disable Equity true If set to “true”, this parameter will not let the
Stop if Spike Equity Stop feature operate during a Spike
Protection is Protection period. This setting prevents the
Triggered possible triggering of an Equity Stop due to a
momentary drop in equity caused by a price spike,
which may often result in the price returning to its
previous level. This setting should be used with
caution as it can make your account vulnerable
during times when Spike Protection is triggered.

Change this setting to “false” if you would prefer to

have an Equity Stop trigger rather than a
temporary drop in your account equity.

Enable Trend true Trend Protection is another safety measure used to

Protection prevent the opening of new levels when a trend is
detected.

When Trend Protection is triggered, the robot will

cease to open any new orders, except existing
orders/baskets may still close during this time.

If set to “false”, Trend Protection is not enabled.

If set to “true”, Trend Protection is enabled, and

the next 3 parameters in the settings will be
enabled and you must enter values there.

Trend 150 This setting is enabled if “Enable Trend Protection”

movement in is set to “true” and works together with the next
points is parameter, “Trend movement is LESS than xx
GREATER than minutes”.

Both of the following parameters’ conditions must

be met in order for Trend Protection to trigger:

- “Trend movement in points is GREATER than”

- “Trend movement is LESS than xx minutes”

Example: Let’s say:

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 37

“Trend movement in points is GREATER than” =
150

“Trend movement is LESS than xx minutes” = 10

From the above example, Trend Protection will

trigger only when the price moves more than 150
points AND it happens in less than 10 minutes.

Trend 10 This setting is enabled if “Enable Trend Protection”

movement is is set to “true” and works together with the
LESS than xx previous parameter, “Trend movement in points is
minutes GREATER than”.

new trade after
Trend Once Trend Protection is triggered, this value tells
the robot to wait for a specified number of minutes
before opening new orders again.

Example: if set to 10, the robot will not open any

orders for a period of 10 minutes from when Trend
Protection was triggered.

Disable Equity true If set to “true”, this parameter will not let the
Stop if Trend Equity Stop feature operate during a Trend
Protection is Protection period. This setting prevents the Equity
Triggered Stop being triggered thus reducing your account
balance. This setting should be used with caution
as it can make your account vulnerable during
times when trends are triggered.

If set to “false”, the Equity Stop may trigger

resulting in a drop in your account balance.

Section 8: Equity Stop Settings

Variable Default Description

Value

Equity Stop None Equity Stop is a very important risk safety feature
Mode (None/ used in many robots. Its function is to close all
All/ Magic/ existing open orders when a specified dollar
Symbol) amount or percentage of the account in current
drawdown is reached.

If set to “None”, the Equity Stop function is

disabled.

If set to “All”, the robot looks at the current

drawdown of the entire account, not just the chart
that it is running on.

If set to “Magic”, the robot looks at the current

drawdown of all the orders in the account with the
same Magic Number only of what is running on the
robot’s chart.

If set to “Symbol”, the robot looks at the current

drawdown of all the orders in the account that are
of the same currency symbol as the robot’s chart.

Example: let’s assume that Killa Gorilla Master EA

is running on Chart 1 with this value set to “Magic”,
and there are 3 charts in total running on the MT4
platform, with Chart 1 having a Magic Number of
1111, Chart 2 having a Magic Number of 2222,
Chart 3 having a Magic Number of 3333. If the
Equity Stop is triggered on Chart 1, then all existing
open orders with the Magic Number 1111 will
close. All existing orders with a Magic Number
other than 1111 will not be closed.

Equity Stop % of 0.0 This setting is enabled only if “Equity Stop Mode
account balance (None/ All/ Magic/ Symbol)” is set to “All”, “Magic”
or “Symbol”.

The Equity Stop function will trigger and close all

existing open orders when the account’s current
drawdown reaches this percentage amount of the
total account balance.

Example: let’s assume that we set this value to

“15” (which is 15%) and the account’s current
balance is $10,000. If the current drawdown
reaches $1,500, then the Equity Stop will trigger
and all existing open orders will close.

Equity Stop in 0.0 This setting is enabled only if “Equity Stop Mode
dollars ($) (None/ All/ Magic/ Symbol)” is set to “All”, “Magic”
drawdown or “Symbol”.

The Equity Stop function will trigger and close all

existing open orders when the account’s current
drawdown reaches this dollar amount.

Example: let’s assume that we set this value to

“1,000” (which is $1,000) and the account’s current
balance is $10,000. If the current drawdown
reaches $1,000, then the Equity Stop will trigger
and all existing open orders will close.

Note: you can use both Equity Stop methods

(percentage (%) drawdown of account and dollar
($) drawdown of account) simultaneously. The
method that meets the criteria first will trigger the
Equity Stop.

When EqStop is 0 This setting is enabled only if “Equity Stop Mode

triggered, wait (None/ All/ Magic/ Symbol)” is set to “All”, “Magic”
X mins before or “Symbol”.
trading again

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 40

When the Equity Stop is triggered, this value tells
the robot to wait for a specified number of minutes
before opening new orders again.

Example: if set to 10, the robot will not open any

orders for a period of 10 minutes from when Equity
Stop was triggered.

Section 9: Trading Hours Settings (Local Time)

Variable Default Description

Value

Trade inside true With this setting, you can specify which hours
following hours on which days you want the robot to trade.

If set to “true”, the robot will trade within the

range of hours specified on each day.

If set to “false”, then the robot will trade

outside the range of hours specified on each
day.

To allow the robot to trade at all times, leave

the default settings as is.

Monday 00:00-23:59 This is the time range (in 24-hr local time) that
you can to choose to trade inside of or outside
through to of.
Friday Example 1: if “Trade inside following hours” is
set to “true” and the time range is “08:00-
16:00”, this means that the robot will only
operate between 8am and 4pm local time. It
will not run outside of these hours.

Example 2: Alternatively, if “Trade inside

following hours” is set to “false” and the time
range is “14:00-20:00”, this means that the
robot will not operate between 2pm and 8pm

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 41

local time, but it will operate outside these
hours.

Example 3: Let’s say you wanted the robot to

trade from 22:00 through to 07:00 (from night
into the next morning) every day, you would
set “Trade inside following hours” to “false”
and set the time range for each day as “07:00-
22:00”.

Do not open false If this is set to “true”, then the robot will not
new baskets open any new baskets from the time specified
after specific on Fridays in the next setting.
time on Friday

Specific Time on HH:MM This setting is enabled only if “Do not open
Friday HH:MM new baskets after specific time on Friday” is
(computer time set to “true”.
– 24hr format)
This is the time (local time in 24-hr format) on
Fridays at which the robot will cease to open
new baskets, but it will continue to open
levels in existing baskets and let them hit their
TP levels and close.

Example: if this is set to “16:00”, then no new

baskets will open after this time on Fridays.

Section 10: Basket Closing Settings

Variable Default Description

Value

Profit Target in 0.0 This parameter allows you to close all existing open
$ (close all orders once a specific amount of profit has been
orders when made and gives you the option to wait before
reached) trading again.

If set to 0.0, then this parameter is disabled. Any

amount other than 0.0, activates and sets the
profit target.

Example: if this is set to “500”, then once the

equity profit level in the account reaches $500,
then the robot will close all existing open orders.

Wait X mins 0 This is the amount of time that the robot will wait
before opening before opening new orders after the Profit Target
new baskets has been triggered.

If this is set to 0, then when the Profit Target has

triggered and closed all existing orders, the robot
will immediately start opening new orders again
and trade normally until the Profit Target is
triggered again.

Close trades false During trading, when this parameter is changed to

now “true” and the OK button is clicked in the settings
window, all existing open orders will start closing
immediately.

Be careful when using this setting as you may not

wish to close existing orders.

Be sure to switch it back to “false” after all orders

have closed otherwise the robot will continue to
close future orders when you open and close the
settings window by pressing Ok.

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 43

Note: This parameter will close ONLY the orders
opened by this chart, not other charts running in
the account (if any). The “Close All” button on the
blue info panel also does the same function as this.

Close basket false This is another safety feature of the robot and can
when max level be used as an alternative to an Equity Stop.
is reached
Example: Let’s assume you set this parameter to
“true” and you have “Maximum number of levels
per basket” set to 15. The basket currently has its
14th level open and is approaching the 15th level.
When the 15th level is reached, instead of opening
the 15th level and avoiding commission on the 15th
order, the robot will close the entire basket of
orders for a net loss. Think of this as a “Basket
Stop” function, similar to an Equity Stop, except for
a basket.

Wait X mins 0 This is the amount of time that the robot will wait
before new before opening new orders after “Close basket
basket is when max level is reached” has been triggered.
opened
If this is set to 0, then when the above has
triggered, the robot will immediately start opening
a new basket again.

Example: if this is set to 10, then the robot will wait

10 minutes before opening a new basket.

Close basket X 0 This is another safety feature of the robot and can
point after Max be used as an alternative to an Equity Stop. This is
Level is reached similar to “Close basket when max level is
reached”, except that it will let the robot open the
maximum level in the basket and then close the
whole basket if it reaches X points past the opening
of the maximum level, where X is the specified
points.

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 44

This function gives the basket extra opportunity for
retracement and hopefully come back and reach
the basket’s TP level.

Wait X mins 0 This is the amount of time that the robot will wait
before new before opening new orders after “Close basket X
basket is point after Max Level is reached” has been
opened triggered. The reason why you may want to use
this feature is if the price has been trending, you
might not want to trade for minutes or even hours
until the trending has stopped.

If this is set to 0, then when the above has

triggered, the robot will immediately start opening
a new basket again.

Example: if this is set to 10, then the robot will wait

10 minutes before opening a new basket.

Close orders 30 This parameter was introduced as a solution to an

with “0” TP obscure issue on some platforms where occasional
every X minutes orders would open without a TP level set, thus
causing the orders to stay open indefinitely. This
may be caused by low latency or low CPU power on
some systems.

This setting overcomes this problem by checking

orders every X minutes and closing all orders with a
“0” TP level. Leave the default setting as is.

Section 11: News Filtering

News filtering is a great tool that enables the robot to know when scheduled
economic news events will occur. These news events usually have different
levels of importance associated with them – High, Medium and Low. The robot
is only interested in High and Medium related news events. Due to the volatile
nature of some of these news events, it is best not to trade around these times.
Knowing this information allows the robot to stop opening new orders a certain
amount of time before and after the scheduled news event.

Variable Default Value Description

News filter true If set to “false”, the news filter is disabled and
active the EA will continue to trade through news
events.

If set to “true”, the news filter is enabled and

uses all the settings in this section to determine
when not to open new orders.

When the news filter is active and the news

events are triggered, they are displayed on the
info panel, displaying how many minutes
before the news is released and also the
number of minutes delay after the event before
the robot will continue to start trading. While
news events are displayed on the info panel,
you can be sure that the robot will not open
any new orders. Sometimes you will see
multiple news events displayed. This is simply
an overlap of news. Only when all news events
have disappeared, will the robot start to trade
again. Any baskets that were open before the
news events were triggered, will remain open
and will either reach TP and close or remain
open and the robot will continue trading with
the baskets after the news event wait period
has passed.

your
computer For the news filter to work correctly, your
time is computer time must be accurate, otherwise the
correct news events will not trigger at the correct
times, which is important to your trading.

News The robot needs to access this URL to retrieve

WebRequest the economic news calendar:

http://cdn.forexfactory.com

To do this:

1. Copy the URL above

2. In MT4, go to menu bar and select Tools,

then Options.

3. Click on the Expert Advisors tab

4. Ensure that “Allow WebRequest for listed

6. Paste the URL that you copied in Step 1.

7. Press enter, then Press OK to close the

window.

Symbols to EUR;USD This setting tells the robot which countries in

filter the calendar it is interested in and wants to
filter events from. You must specify the
currency codes, separated only by “;” with no
spaces.

Example 1: If the robot will be trading on the

AUDUSD chart, then you need to enter:
“AUD;USD”.

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 47

Example 2: If you are running the robot on 3
charts in the one account, EURUSD, GBPUSD
and USDCHF, you would enter:
“EUR;GBP;CHF;USD”. The order of the country
codes are not important.

You may enter other country codes if you think

they are related to the currencies you are
trading with.

Example 3: If you are running the robot on the

GBPUSD chart, you may think that Euro news is
also important and can have an effect on the
GBPUSD, so you might enter “GBP;USD;EUR”.

Impact news High;Medium The robot looks at the High and Medium
filter impact news events in the calendar and uses
these as the filters. Low impact news events
are deemed insignificant and are not used.

High impact 60 This tells the robot the number of minutes to

before delay stop opening new orders prior to a High impact
news event.

High impact 30 This tells the robot the number of minutes to

after delay wait before opening new orders after a High
impact news event has been released.

Medium 30 This tells the robot the number of minutes to

impact stop opening new orders prior to a Medium
before delay impact news event.

Medium 15 This tells the robot the number of minutes to

impact after wait before opening new orders after a
delay Medium impact news event has been released.

(in other words, by the same magic number). It will not close other orders
in the same account opened by other charts. After the last order is closed,
there is a 10-second delay before new orders start opening again. This
gives the user a chance to turn off the AutoTrading function.
Time since reset (HHH:MM)
This displays in hours and minutes how much time has passed since the
Reset button was pressed.

7.2. Extended Info Panel Explained
The Info Panel expands to the right when alerts/notifications are triggered so
that it can display more info when needed.
Events that can be triggered are:
• Economic News Events
• Trend and Spike Protection triggers
• Equity Stops
• Trading stopped due to times outside of the specified trading hours

© Copyright 2019 killa-gorilla.com 53

Economic News Events
When the News Filter is active in the settings, certain news events may be
triggered according to the economic news calendar lookup. When these
news items are triggered, they are listed in the info panel, like below for
example. For the duration that they are displayed in the panel, it means
that the robot is now not opening any new orders during this time.
Example 1:

In the above image, you will see 2 news events listed. The red arrow is
pointing to the news event, “Construction PMI”. At the beginning of each
news event line are 2 numbers in square brackets.
The first number, in the case, “79” refers to the number of minutes left
before the news event data is released. In other words, it’s like a
countdown to the event. You will note that the colour of the text is red,
which means that the event is coming up and has not yet happened.
When the news event data is released, ie. when the first number reaches
0, the text colour will change to yellow.
The second number, in this case, “60” refers to the number of minutes
that the robot will not trade after the event has occurred, and this will
now start counting down to 0. When the second number reaches 0, the
whole news event disappears and the robot will start opening trades
again (provided that there are no other news events triggered).
So, to understand the notification for the news event that the red arrow is
pointing to in the above example in simple terms, would read as:-
The economic data for the Construction PMI news event of high impact is
due to be released in 79 minutes. The robot will not open any new orders
during this time and until 60 minutes after the event has passed.

Example 2:

In the above image, you will see 2 news events listed. The red arrow is
pointing to the news event, “Spanish Unemployment Change”.
So, to understand the notification for this news event in simple terms, it
would read as:-
The economic data for the Spanish Unemployment Change news event of
high impact has already been released. The robot is still not opening any
new orders during this time and the robot will continue to not open any
new orders for another 49 minutes.

The other notifications such as:

• Trend and Spike Protection triggers
• Equity Stops
• Trading stopped due to times outside of the specified trading hours
are not as complex. When they are triggered according to the criteria in the
settings, they are also displayed in the same area as the news events and like
the news events, for as long as they are displayed, they do not allow the robot
to open any new trades.

Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of

which are mentioned below. No representation is being made that any

account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown. In
fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical
performances results and actual results subsequently achieved by any
particular trading program.

One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are

generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical
trading does not involve financial risk and no hypothetical trading record can
completely account for the impact of financial risk in actual trading.

For example: the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading

program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely
affect trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the market
in general and to implementation of any specific trading program, which
cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance
results, all of which can adversely affect actual trading results.
