Today’s Gospel describes the
feeding of 5,000 men. With
women and children, the
hungry could have totaled
about 15,000, roughly ten
times the population of Capernaum - an unprecedented
percentage of Galileans!
As we file up in the Communion line in our gathering
of faithful followers at Mass this weekend, God comes
to each of us one to one. Closing our eyes in prayer, we
are part of the continuing miracle of faith.

ANNOUNCING SUMMER WEEKENDS MASS
SCHEDULE TIME CHANGE
During the summer months, with people on vacations
and many off to cottages, all 3 weekend Masses are not
as well attended as they usually are, even with visitors
attending. For JULY AND AUGUST ONLY
(including Aug 31/Sept 1 weekend), we will have the
usual Saturday evening Mass however only ONE
Sunday morning Mass at 10:00 a.m. Mass intentions
that have already been booked on those weekends
will be revised.

Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. On
this day, the church asks the faithful to pray for the
sanctification of priests. Let’s continue to support them
and pray for them daily.
Daily Prayer for Priests
O Jesus,
I pray for your faithful and fervent priests;
For your unfaithful and tepid priests;
For your priests labouring at home or abroad in distant
mission fields.
For your tempted priests; For your young priests;
For your dying priests;
For the souls of your priests in Purgatory.
But above all, I recommend to you the priests dearest to
me;
The priest who baptized me;
The priests who absolved me from my sins;
The priests at whose Masses I assisted and who gave
me Your Body and Blood in Holy Communion;
The priests who taught and instructed me;
All the priests to whom I am indebted in any other way

CORPUS CHRISTI SUNDAY
Corpus Christi (The Most Holy Body and Blood of
Christ) is a Eucharistic solemnity, or better, the solemn
commemoration of the institution of that sacrament. It
is, moreover, the Church's official act of homage and
gratitude to Christ, who by instituting the Holy
Eucharist gave to the Church her greatest treasure.
Holy Thursday, assuredly, marks the anniversary of the
institution, but the commemoration of the Lord's
passion that very night suppresses the rejoicing proper
to the occasion. Today's observance, therefore, accents
the joyous aspect of Holy Thursday.
