About Cuyahoga50
Water. It sustains us, nourishes us, and drives our economy.
By the time the Cuyahoga River caught fire for the last time
on June 22, 1969, it was dead. Fifty years later the river is
alive again. Cuyahoga50 brings together nearly 300 partners
to celebrate our progress and to learn from the past in
Sustainable Cleveland 2019
tackling today’s clean water challenges. In 2009, Mayor Frank G. Jackson launched Sustainable
Cleveland 2019, a 10-year initiative to design and develop a
Blue Lake Sponsors “green city on a blue lake”. Join us as we mark ten years of
progress, honor the people who made it happen, and set the
stage for future action.
