Notes

If no price has been stated against any item


hereunder the Contractor will not be entitled
to claim any money for such items even
though he is obliged to execute the work or
provide services described therein.
Preliminary items priced by the Tenderer are
deem to include the cost of unpriced items
Note

The Tenderer shall read, understand and


acquaint himself with the requirements in the
conditions of contract Parts I & II, General
Specification of work, particular Specification
of work, Instruction to Tenderers, Bidding,
Data, Tender Form, Appendix to Tender and
preamble notes. It is the Tenderer's
responsibility to see that his price include for
complying with all the above requirements
whether specifically referred to in this bills of
quantities or otherwise.
Note

The Tenderer is required to visit the site of


the proposed work, as it is his responsibility
to ascertain the conditions governing access
to the site, the external working space,
storage area etc., Note

Cost and expenses in connection with any


other preliminary item which is not listed
below, but is necessary for the due
completion of works, is deemed to be
included in the tender rates. Note

Mechanical plant and equipment which emits


excessive noise, smoke, fumes, obnoxious
gases etc., will not be allowed to be 'used in
the Site, without the prior approval of the
Engineer. Note

The contractor shall be responsible for any


loss or damage to the works, existing
structures, adjoining structures and unfixed
materials. Note

2A.1 Allow for clearing of site including removing

together with a qualified person in

2A.3 Allow for supplying temporary electricity


for the Works and facilities of the contractor
including 'connection, distribution system for
the work, internal arrangements and all
payment to the authorities for connections. It
is the responsibility of the Contractor to
ensure steady and uninterrupted power
supply to Works. The Contractor shall not be
entitled to claim and the Employer shall not
pay cost incurred by the Contractor for using
electric power generators or for using other
alternative power supply method in case
there happened to be disruptions to normal

2A.4 Allow for provision of water connection for


the works including drinking water, and
paying all charges and other expenses in
connection with the supply from water mains
or any other alternative method of water
supply, storage and distribution. It is the sole
responsibility of the contractor to ensure

Time-Related Charges

2A.19 Allow for maintenance, during the entire

2A.23 Allow for maintaining site. The Contractor


shall be responsible for maintaining the site
in clean and orderly fashion at all times and
during the entire contract period. Materials,
casing etc., shall be kept neatly stacked on
the site with all access-ways kept clear. All
dust, debris and rubbish etc., arising out of
his own works shall be continually cleared
and removed from the site. The Engineer's
Representative shall make a percentage of
the monthly rate or shall completely suspend
the monthly amount if the contractor's
maintenance found to be unacceptable. The
burning of rubbish and debris on site will not
be allowed under any circumstances. The
Contractor is to make certain that his
workmen do not burn anything on site.

2A.24 Allow for maintaining a temporary site

2A.28 Allow for providing all necessary safety


measures to workmen. The bidder should
submit his comprehensive safety plan with
engaging the services of an adequately
trained person to attend to first aid medical
duties including a provision of a first aid box,
regular supply of medicine, linen and safety
equipment for the client and the staff. Hard
hats, goggles, safety boots and temporary
fire protection for all levels (fire
extinguishers), etc. and providing experience
safety officer including all necessary safety
measures to workman at site conforming to
the latest industrial safety regulations and as
directed by the engineer. The Engineer's
Representative has the right to pay a
percentage of the monthly component to suit
the percentage accomplishment of this safety
plan.

2A.29 Allow for employing suitably qualified and


experienced technical personnel on full
time basis for contract and proper execution
of contract work at the site. The Contractor
shall employ such technical personnel as
specified in the Conditions of Contracts. This
item shall cover all salaries and other
payments for all technical personnel above
the grade of work supervisor, earmarked to
be employed by the contractor for the
execution of the works. Salaries of all labour
supervisor and below are deemed to be
included under the unit rates of the work
items.

2A.30 Allow sum for providing all necessary security


measures to staff members and worker's

contractor shall furnish the client with a joint
guarantee binding the specialist sub contractor
and the contractor as to the effectiveness of the
anti termite treatment for a period of 10 years
after completion. The rate shall include for
precautionary measures to be taken against
chemicals being infiltrated in to the out side

Notes:

The Engineer may, if in his opinion it is


necessary or desirable, issue an instruction that
any varied work shall be executed on a daywork
basis. The Contractor shall then be paid for
such varied work under the terms set out in the
daywork schedule included in the Contract and
at the rates and prices affixed thereto by him in
the Tender. Note

The Contractor shall furnish to the Engineer


such receipts or other vouchers as may be
necessary to prove the amount paid and, before
ordering materials, shall submit to the Engineer
quotations for the same for his approval.
Note

In respect of the such of the Works executed on


a daywork basis, the Contractor shall, during the
continuance of such work, deliver each day to
the Engineer an exact list in duplicate of the
names, occupation and time of all workmen
employed on such work and a statement, also in
duplicate, showing the description and quantity
of all materials and Contractor’s Plant &
Equipment's used thereon or therefore other
than Contractor’s Plant & Equipment's which is
included in the percentage addition ( If any ) in
accordance with such daywork schedule. One
copy of each list and statement will, if correct, or
when agreed, be signed by the Engineer and
returned to the Contractor.

At the end of each month the Contractor shall
deliver to the Engineer a priced statement of the
labour, materials and Contractor’s Plant &
Equipment, except as aforesaid, used and the
Contractor shall not be entitled to any payment
unless such lists and statements have been fully
and punctually rendered. Provided always that if
the Engineer considers that for any reason the
sending of such lists or statements by the
Contractor, in accordance with the foregoing
provision, was impracticable he shall
nevertheless be entitled to authorize payment for
such work, either as daywork, on being satisfied
as to the time employed and the labour,
materials and Contractor’s Plant & Equipment
used on such work, or at such value therefore as
shall, in his opinion, be fair and reasonable.

Note

Generally

The Contractor shall be paid for any part of the


Works carried out on a daywork basis in
accordance with the Contract at the rates and
percentages set down in and subject to the
provisions of this Daywork Schedule.

Time engaged in the actual works only will be


allowed. Idle time will not be allowed.

All rates in this Daywork Schedule shall be fixed


for the duration of the Contract

Labour

The following labour rates are to be applied to


the days worked and are to be all inclusive Note

A day shall mean an 8 hour day. Note

The said rates are to be based on the rates of


wages and other emoluments and expenses,
including holiday credits (if any), and insurances,
payable by the Contractor. Note

The said rates are to include, inter alia, for all


supervision, importation of labour including
transport, travelling time, fares, subsistence and
lodging allowances, operation of incentive
schemes and costs of overtime working,
guaranteed time, sick pay and any other
disbursements arising from the employment of
labour, for the use and repair of all non-
mechanical tools (including paint brushes),
sharpening of tools and use of standing
scaffolding and other Contractor's Equipment
and for overheads and profit. Note
