Case Study: Leadership Training Test

Linda Reyes technical skills, confidence and aggressiveness match – high. Everyone admires her skills
and competence just not her attitude. Linda is also honest as she follows a set of stringent principle.

Linda delivers results yet when it comes to arguments and conflicts many people think she doesn’t have
integrity. It is because of the way she speaks with her coworkers, unruly and oftentimes rude; this
behavior occurs mostly because she cannot maintain her temper in front of her direct reports and even
superiors. Linda often works alone because there is no other way than the ‘Linda way’ which, in her
mind, is the best of all. And nobody really wants to report to her. Nobody informs her of vital news –
especially if bad – for fear of her unpleasant reaction. There have been times when company attrition in
her department reached as high as 50% turnover.

But Linda’s work ethic is undeniable; she works longer and harder than anyone else in the company. She
brings results more than the expected. She stands for what is best for the company and bravely presents
her objections if she deduces a particular decision may not benefit the company. She is truly a brilliant
and efficient worker. If Linda could only maintain pleasant relationship with other people, she would
become the company’s greatest asset.
