session 3 – girls
Last session we talked about understanding our value in God’s eyes and how an improper view of ourselves
can create a trap for the enemy to use against us. This week we are going to be discussing God’s calling to
each of us, the calling to live pure. We will also be looking at the consequences of living outside of God’s
calling by living immorally.
There is nothing more clear in scripture than the calling for children of God to live morally pure!
To reject a life of sexual purity is more than disobeying your parents or pastor, it is rejecting God!
In order for us to win the battle over sexual sins we have to first define sexual sin.
What is sexual sin? Any sexual act before committing to one another in marriage.
- Fornication - voluntary sexual acts between persons not married to each other
- The world would want you to believe that sex is just intercourse, but in God’s eyes sexual sin isn’t
limited to intercourse.
“How far is too far?” is not a question that should be in our minds. It sets us up for failure.
- Our heartbeat should be to worship God in every aspect of our lives, even in our purity.
Overcoming Temptation -
7. Be modest
- Don’t “bait the hook” with the way you dress
8. Trust God
- God has planned your life.
- You don’t keep mates by crossing boundaries, you loose them.
Despite the picture that culture has painted, the consequences of sexual sin is too great to ignore.
PHYSICAL CONSEQUENCES:
STDS –
1 out of 4 sexually active teens will contract an STD.
For every teen that becomes pregnant, 10 will get an STD.
80% of teens with an STD don’t even know that they have one.
PREGNANCY-
Every 64 seconds a baby is born to a teenage mother.
Every 5 minutes a baby is born to a teenage that already has another child.
1 million women get pregnant each year.
Over 65% of teen moms are unmarried.
80% of teen pregnancies are unplanned.
You cannot assume that the stats will not impact you. The physical consequences are too high.
But despite what you might think, the real consequences are not physical.
EMOTIONAL CONSEQUENCES:
- feelings of guilt, shame, disappointment
- loss of respect for yourself and others
- break up of relationship
Sex outside of marriage is shallow and selfish, and never increases love.
Stats show that people who have sex before marriage ALMOST never get married.
- pain for future spouse
Girls who have sexual relationships before marriage are twice as likely to commit suicide!
SPIRITUAL CONSEQUENCES:
Sin separates us from God’s will & stops the hand of God from blessing your life.
There is no sin any more destructive to a young person’s future than sexual impurity.

Thankfully, God has given us the Holy Ghost and power! Power to be over comers. We are more than
conquerors. We can live pure.
