It is human nature to be terrified of the unknown. We want to be certain and know what is

coming so that we can be prepared. Who doesn't enjoy being right semicolon however, well with

the world be like if we never had a hit of Doubt, like Russell said “ I think we ought to entertain

our opinions with some measure of doubt…” There are a lot of debates about certainty and

doubt, some examples are religious views, political views, and beliefs upon scientist discovering

or inventing something.

Religious views are different depending on the person and they may or may not be

certain that they believe in their religion. Some people may say Jesus is the Messiah for

everyone; though, there are a lot of other religions in the world, and people can think and believe

as they choose. Some citizens who are not christians may believe that Jesus did not walk on

water, turn water into wine, split the red sea or a slue of other things; but, just because you did

not see it does not mean it did not happen.

History has shown us that if you do not believe in yourself then no one else will.

President Barack Obama became the first African American President of the United States

because he believed in himself. Obama becoming the first African American president displays

that if one listens to the people who doubt combined with doubting yourself shows that you are

easily persuaded, which is not ideal for someone who holds a position of power. He had to

persevere through all of the backlash such as: hatred and racism, from people such as fellow

opponents or citizens. This is important because having minimal doubts will help you become

more successful and confident.

Science has shown us that when people doubt, you, go find a new way to help people or

new cures. Scientist Zara Janezekovic had discovered a new way on how to treat a burn victim,

then they would not have come up with the treatments that they have now. When you do not

allow for the people who doubt get the best of you, then you can become an inventor or

innovator. Science is important to our everyday life; even though, people doubt they still

continue to treat/cure patients in new and innovative ways.

Having trivial doubts is important because you will be certain for a lot of things and be

more confident and successful. Always believing in yourself help and having no doubts is good

when you are a child; but, when you get older you realize you must have doubts in everyday life

because you cannot play for the National Basketball League if you do not know how to play

basketball. When you have small doubts but do not let them consume you, that is when you may

become the next, President Obama, or Zara Janezekovic. Without President Obama we would

not have as many job creations or healthcare for everyone and without Janezekovic patients with

burns would not have such a great survival rate.
