products gymwear Mental health Gym podcast site website Mental health Get fit website Body image Research aim and context I am choosing to undertake this research about gym clothing and activewear as i think this will be effective in promoting through a media brand such as instagram and snapchat. I think that it appeals to many age groups from 17 to 35.i aim to make gym clothes unique and different and fit all body shapes and sizes.i want to stand out and be different as the market is quite crowded with independent and well known colgements. I am undertaking this research from using questionnaires i will be aiming my research at 17-35 which is a broad target audience but activewear is for all age groups. I will be asking both genders boys and girls and asking questions related to if they go to the gym or would be interested in new gym wear. I aim to make gymwear which is different and stands out. I will be using vibrant colours and shape shifting material so every design is the same from sizes 2-32 as i believe that designs are altered due to weight and clothing size. I will be producing market research by looking into well known brands such as nike and gymshark and looking at the differnce in what they offer from price range to designs and evaluating how my product will be different and stand out. Gymwear is a niche market but appeals to most people.i think that my market is overcrowded but with the right product i know that it will sell and make profit. Promoting of my brand Social media has became a new platform to advertise products and is very common among young adults and adults which i think will help my product get out there. Instagram uses models ends well known celebrities to promote their brands. I think that this will be perfect for my brand as when my brand is shown on celebrities young people will be interested and go and find out what it is about. I have been conducting research on my own timeline and have found when looking at my timeline everyday gym clothing adverts came up around 6 times a day which is a lot considering this was only on one device. Love island stars are most known for promoting brands and they appeal to my target audience i would use this as a way of getting my brand out there and known.l think there is a gap in the market as i want to target all sizes including plus sizes and i want them to feel included as plus size ranges are in at the moment. Stars like ashley graham is a perfect example of a plus size model who promotes well known brands. Snapchat is another way my product could get out there stars like kylie jenner promote their own makeup brands though this social media platform.i want my brand to be fresh and have a unique selling point. Overall i think that this social media platform is the best way for my product to get out there i think the designs match what young people are after and social media is a global platform which means that it can be shared or viewed anywhere. Making a page on instagram would also see how popular my product is and whether it would sell or not. Gym Wear well known brands Nike is a well known brand, but only adversities skinny people, this means that it only appeals to certain age groups and sizes. Nike is a global brand and advertise sportswear being the main selling point however it only shows skinny people and has ventured into the plus size industry. This is something which my brand would overcome and be better, nike is known in all countries and is known for its modern adverts and its catchy slogan just do it. However there adverts which do promote any size such as find your greatness which i think fits within my brand. The second picture shows the the start of the advert and shows anyone can do it, there adverts are simple but effective and you can see what there advertising i will be following this path by doing this.The Nike brand generated $8.95 billion in revenue last year, and still enjoys consistent 10% annual growth despite being the biggest of its kind. This means that my product could be earning this much money in years to come. Nike and other brands such as gymshark use social media and adverts to promote their brand. Primary research Questionnaire results I asked various questions to do with my new gym wear brand i mainly focused on age,gender,brands and if they go to the gym all of these was important in getting the right target research for my brand. I had to ask various audiences from young to middle aged.from my results i was able to gather who my product would be aimed too and what would work. I saw that both females and males would be my target audience but when making an example product i would focus on women gym wear as from my results women buy more gymwear.i could see from my age range that i would have to focus on ages from 18 to 30 which covers different age groups. Knowing that most of my target audience use social media i know that i can promote my campaign on my social media page called fit all one. The reason for my name is that it fits all genders and sizes as this is the reason for my product i want to make a gender neutral clothing. Demographics Exploring a range of diversity and backgrounds. My area i will focus on is south east london as my target audience is from there. As you can see from the diagram below(blue) in south east london my race is mostly white from asking people from my area the pie chart more than 65% is white the orange shows white while blue is black and grey is other races. This is really important in my research as i want to focus my clothing around colours which show of someones figure. In my area over 45% are under 21 which means most people will be wearing clothes such as nike and gymshark which are promoted on social media. 50% are over 21 to 55 however while looking at my demographics i feel like i should of maybe been more accurate and put the age gaps in a smaller range so i could get more accurate results. Most people in south east london come under working class and middle class however with my secondary research i was able to see that most middle class people use social media and have an iphone which means that people will have access to my website and my promotion advert this shows that my gymwear should do well. Secondary research I have conducted my secondary research by using the internet and apps. I have been looking at well known brands.as you can see from diagram one gym wear is supposed to be on the rise as predictions till 2024 means gymwear is suppose to carry on rising which means profits and social media pages should increase which means the total profit margin should increase. The total turnover for similar products is around 140 million if my gymwear brand all fit one does as well this could mean that i could be turning over these prices. Products like nike focus on one promotional campaign to promote their product for example using not a stereotypical person working out and using a normal man or women who may be overweight shows that everyone can wear their product and its not only for a certain type of person another well known brand adidas has teamed up with beyonce to promote her new gym wear brand ivy park, to promote this she used social media teasers page and a new promotion video on her instagram to keep people anticipated and to get involved. I think that i would use this approach in my new media product.with over 7000 gyms in the uk and more than 61% of people going to the gym or working out i think making a gym wear brand would be perfect. Selection and rejection of ideas I wanted to create a vivid, same designs for all ages and sizes by looking at my research i have conducted and through creative control on my idea i was able to select the idea i would want to go for for example i started of by looking at nike and gymshark however i found with nike that the colour scheme was bland and did not fit within my aim and idea i wanted to produce and pitch, but with gymshark i was able to gather some ideas such as the colour and style of the gymwear and mix it with my idea i wanted to make sure that i selected a colour scheme which would stand out and not match with any similar product on the market while looking at my consumer research and market research i was able to gather a idea and brand name with would go well with my aim. I think if i was to launch my media promotion video for my gymwear in the summer then this would fit my convections for my idea and would make sense for my bold colour choice i have decided to go for. For gymshark i looked at the shape and how it fitted most people however they only promote skinny or models which meant that i was able to make an adjustment to my brand as this is where i found a flaw in the gym market. Which i could use to my advantage in my campaign. Media skills and my product It was very important that i made my idea through my own creative idea, this meant i had to make sure that i conducted my own personal research to make sure that my idea and brand would stand out. Form my research i was able to see that the gym market was crowded but there was opportunity.gymwear is very popular within the clothing industry which means that i know my product will do well i had to use self motivation to make sure my product had its own individual ethos and stand out from many competitors.i had to use creative skills such as look at social media sites which promote gymwear and gyms i then made a plan and explored ideas which i could put forward for example mental health was a big and strong idea i was going to put forward as i found that with good exercise and workout it improves your own mental health.
