At Crescent Academy, music is an important part of your child’s day. We focus on
creating, performing, responding, and connecting. We sing, play music games,

Grading Policy:

Performances: 50%

Performances are a part of your child’s grade and all students are required to
participate. Your student has spent a lot of time learning different musical
concepts and songs. This performance takes place of a test. If there is a reason
your child cannot show up to a performance, it is required that the parent or legal
guardian to reach out to inform Mrs. Dettbarn.

Participation: 25%

A participation grade is given every day your student comes to music class. Your
student will start with ten points each day. Each time they do not participate, a
point will be taken away. If your student receives a 7 or lower for the day, a
phone call home will be made. The four groups they will be specifically graded on
are “on task and participating”, “listening and following directions”, “respectful of
teachers and students”, and “moving and interacting safely”.

Musicianship: 25%

Each student will be graded on different aspects of musicianship.
