DETAILED LESSON PLAN (DLP)

DLP No.: Learning Area: Grade Level: Quarter: Duration:
2 Science 8 1 60 minutes
Code:
1. LEARNING Infer that when a body exerts a force on another an
COMPETENCY equal amount of force is exerted back on it (S8FE-Ia-16)

Key Concepts/
Understanding to Balanced and unbalanced force
be Developed
Knowledge Describe the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces.
Skills Draw a diagram of the forces acting on an object.
Specific Learning
Show awareness on the forces existing in our surroundings
Objectives Attitudes
and how it affects our daily activities.
Values
2. CONTENT Laws of Motion

RESOURCES
Materials Pictures
4. PROCEDURES
Show a picture of two men pulling a rope on its opposite side. Suppose
those men exert the same amount of force. Ask the students the following
questions:
4.1 Introductory
1. How will you describe the motion as the men start pulling on opposite
Activity
side of the rope?
2. What will happen if there are two men pulling on the left side?

Draw a diagram of the forces acting on the rope as men are pulling on
opposite sides:
4.2 Activity A. Two men are pulling on opposite sides.
B. Two men are on the left side against one on the right side.

The forces applied are balanced if it has the following:

 Acts on opposite directions
 Lie on the same line of action
 Has the same magnitude
4.3 Analysis The forces applied are not balanced if it has the following:
 Acts on any direction but not opposite
 May or may not lie on the same line of action
 Has different magnitude

A force is simply a push or pull exerted by or to a body.

When the forces applied of a body are balanced then the body do not
move or at rest.
4.4 Abstraction
When the forces applied of a body are unbalanced then the body moves
or in motion.

A tennis ball rolls across the tennis court, after sometime a ball stopped
rolling. What makes the ball roll across the court? What makes the ball
4.5 Application stop rolling?
1. How do balance and unbalance forces affect the motion of an
object?
2. Describe whether balanced or unbalanced:
4.6 Assessment a. A lunchbox on top of the table.
b. Pulling a 5kg cart towards the east.
Draw a diagram of the situations in item number 2.

4.7 Assignment Read about combining forces, pages 9-10 of your Science Module.
4.8 Concluding “Life is like riding a bicycle to keep your balance you must keep
Activity moving”
Indicate below special cases including but not limited to continuation of lesson plan
to the following day in case of re-teaching or lack of time, transfer of lesson to the
following day, in cases of classes suspension, etc.
5. REMARKS

Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher. Think about your student’s
progress this week. What works? What else needs to be done to help the students learn?
6. REFLECTIONS Identify what help your instructional supervisors can provide for you so when you meet
them, you can ask them relevant questions. Indicate below whichever is/are
appropriate.
A. No. of learners who
earned 80% in the
evaluation.
B. No. of learners who
require additional
activities for remediation.
C. Did the remedial
lessons work? No. of
learners who have caught
up with the lesson.
D. No. learners who
continue to require
remediation.
E. Which of my learning
strategies worked well?
Why did these work?
F. What difficulties did I
encounter which my
principal or supervisor
can help me solve?
G. What innovation or
localized materials did I
use/discover which I wish
to share with other
teachers?
