Abstract
The use of Momentum Theory allows us to determine some characteristics of a
helicopter, with this purpose we design and calculate the concept of a new Helicopter,
which we call Black Widow.

1. Introduction
Inspired by the Nature, the present project sought to elaborate a new concept of
Helicopter, by the same way which Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit was inspired by a
common Buzzard, we use the same side view to inspire the design of our Helicopter
concept, named Black Widow, how can be viewed in the next chapter.

Using a Simple Airfoil model (NACA 0012), we have:

Using Momentum Theory, we will suppose that our motor power is 170hp, and calculate
the blade size to three diferente values of Figure of Merit(M), and we will assume an

Helicopter in Hovering, where our Thrust (T) is igual to the Helicopter Weight. (Density
at sea-level : 0.002378 slug/ftˆ3)
