Learning Objectives
This course is designed to provide the students an introduction to statistical methods useful for analyzing data,
with specific application to problems of business. Statistical Inference involves the use of probabilities and data to
draw conclusions about the underlying population. Students will also be expected to learn how to use statistics to
think critically about real world issues. Statistical methodology and theory will be presented in an applications
context. Statistical Inference is used in marketing tests and product safety tests, in constructing forecasting models
and in testing & refining theories about human body and nature of the universe. Computer based statistical
package Minitab & SPSS will be used in this subject.
