Learning Objectives
This course is designed to provide the students an introduction to statistical methods useful for analyzing data,
with specific application to problems of business. Statistical Inference involves the use of probabilities and data to
draw conclusions about the underlying population. Students will also be expected to learn how to use statistics to
think critically about real world issues. Statistical methodology and theory will be presented in an applications
context. Statistical Inference is used in marketing tests and product safety tests, in constructing forecasting models
and in testing & refining theories about human body and nature of the universe. Computer based statistical
package Minitab & SPSS will be used in this subject.

Learning Objective
This course has been structured to meet the requirements of students studying Pakistan Studies as a compulsory
subject at undergraduate level at KUST, Kohat. It aims to introduce students to the discipline of Pakistan Studies.
It seeks to acquaint them with the salient features of Geography, History, Politics, Foreign Policy, Economy, and
Culture & Society of Pakistan.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the Pakistan Studies’ lessons in this semester, students would be educated in the fundamentals of
Geography, History, History, Politics, Foreign Policy, Economy, and Culture & Society of Pakistan. They would be
familiar with the elements of the ideological underpinnings of the Struggle for Pakistan. They would have a vivid
idea of the current political & economic situation of Pakistan. They would also know the salient features of
Pakistan’s relations with the International Community.
