 Exploration
During exsploration activity, teacher:
 Teacher explain about preposition with power point presentation while students
listen to the explanation.
 Elaboration
During elaboration activity, teacher:
 Teacher ask the students to make a group and discuss about the type of
preposition.
 Confirmation
During confirmation activity, teacher:
 Teacher ask a member of each group to share the result of the discussion and
give example of each preposition.
 Teacher discuss the practice related to the materialt.

 Teacher ask the students to reflect what they have learn from the material.

What’s preposition

A preposition is a part of speech that shows the relation of a noun or pronoun to another
word. Prepositions show the relationship of a noun or pronoun to another word. These
relationships include where, when, who, or what.

Example :
The flower in the vase is a rose.
In shows the relationship between the flower and the vase.

Kinds of Preposition

Based on their used in the sentence:

1 Preposition of place

2 Preposition of time

3 Preposition of movement

 Preposition of place
Preposition of place refer to those preposition which can be used to show where
something is located

Example of preposition of place : above, across, against, along, among, around, at,
behind, below, beneath, beside, between, beyond, by, down, in, inside, into, near, off, on,
opposite, out, over, past, through, to, toward, under, underneath.

 Preposition of time

Preposition of time help to link the noun or pro noun with a time value.
It function as an indicator as to what point of time did an even occur
Example : after, around, at, before, between, during, from, on, until, at, in, from, since,
for, during, within.

We use:
at for a PRECISE TIME
in for MONTHS, YEARS, CENTURIES and LONG PERIODS
on for DAYS and DATES

 Preposition of movement

A preposition of movement is used to show movement to or from a place


Example of preposition of movement:

Down, past, into, behind, up, onto, through, off, over, on, accros, at, by, for, after,
toward.
