I.OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standard
The learner demonstrates an understanding of the concepts of
occupational health and safety procedure.

B. Performance Standard:
The learner independently prepares an occupational health and safety
checklist being applied in carpentry.

C. Learning Competencies:

 Terminal Objective
List down the different health hazards and risks found in the
workplace (TLE_IACP7/8ID-0i-1)

 Enabling Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
 Identify the different types of prevention signs and tags used in
workplace.
 Explain the types of prevention signs and tags.
 Give example for each type of prevention signs and tags.
 Value the importance of prevention tags and signs by making their
own quotes

A. ROUTINE ACTIVITIES

Good morning class! Good morning ma’am!

The students will stand and Zarah will lead


the prayer.
Please remain standing and be quiet
for our prayer. Zarah please lead the
prayer. The students will pick the litters and
arrange their chairs properly.
Before you take a sit, please pick up the
litters and arrange your chair properly. The students will sit down.

B. Motivation
Today we have a new topic, but before
that let us play the game “AWREY”.

Are you familiar with that game?


No Ma’am.
Okay. That game is somewhat similar to
BINGO. Do you know how to play
BINGO?
Yes, Ma’am.
Here are the mechanics of the game:

1. Go to your group and form a


circle.
2. Each group has AWREY card.
Card has 25 letter-sign
combinations. Each letter-sign
combination corresponds with a
square on the cards.
3. Look at the TV screen, the picture
shows on the screen must be the
picture you will find on your card,
cover that picture by using the
given chip.
4. When the group formed a
diagonal line, they will clap 3
times and one of the member
will shout “AWREY” (with
feelings).

group has to get the picture
assigned to them. Picture shows
sign/ signals that we can see in
the workplace)

Group 1: General
Group 2: Danger signs
Group 3: Caution signs
Group 4: Exit signs
Group 5: Directional signs
Group 6: Accidental Prevention Tags
2. Write your insights about the
picture.
3. Choose 2 representatives who
will report your answer.
4. You will be given three minutes to
do the task.
5. The order of the group that will
present is based on the
randomizer (wheel).

Time’s up!
Go back to your seats and arrange
them properly.

All answers are correct. Those are


examples of accident prevention signs
and tags used in workplace.

The picture that was assigned to the first


group is called “general signs”. It is
visible at all times when work is being
performed and shall be removed or
covered promptly when the hazard
does not exist anymore.
(the teacher will give another example
of general signs).

For group number two, the signs are the


danger signs. It shall be used only
where an immediate hazard exists and
it should be read as the predominating
color for the upper panel; outline on
the boarders and a white lower panel
for additional sign wording.

For the third group, the sign was called


Caution signs. As you can see the
predominating color is yellow, black
upper panel and borders, yellow
lettering of “CAUTION”.

Fourth group, that it an Exit sign. This sign


always see at the top of the door in exit.
If you want to go outside, this sign will
help you.

G5. The directional sign. It helps us to


easily go on the place we don’t really
know.

G6. Accidental Prevention Tags, it helps


us to have an awareness like for
example this sign. ‘Wet floor’, but that
we are aware that floor is wet.
