SELFLESS ACT OF GOD

Opening Prayer: O Lord, we praise and glorify you, we come into your presence so aware of my human
frailty and yet overwhelmed by your love for me. I thank you that there is no human experience that I
might walk through where your love cannot reach me. If I climb the highest mountain you are there and
yet if I find myself in the darkest valley of my life, you are there. Teach me today to love you more. Help
me to rest in that love that asks nothing more than the simple trusting heart of a child. We ask this in
Jesus name, Amen.

Biblical Reading: Romans 15:1-7

Reflection: Please them more than we please ourselves for even Christ did not please himself. We need to
be selfless and not to be selfish for like God who gave his only begotten son Jesus Christ for us. God’s
selflessness saves us on our sins, this is our time for us to be selfless to others.

Prayers of the faithful: Let lift to the Lord our prayers and for every prayer let us response: Lord
graciously hear us.

1. We pray for all the people who share the word of the Lord; The Pope, Cardinals, Bishops, Priest,
Deacons and all the people of God who teach and share the word of the Lord they be
strengthened in proclaiming the gospel to all. We pray to the Lord.
2. We pray for our political leaders and to people who work for our government, may they work
the common good of our country and for the people. We pray to the Lord.
3. We pray for our consecrated brothers and sisters may they will always believe in their hearts
that everything they do is right and good and that God will give them that assurance to be able
carry out their liberating mission to all people. We pray to the Lord.
4. We pray for those who are oppressed, downtrodden, poor, sick, and suffering may they find
people who could let them experienced the love of Jesus. We pray to the Lord.
5. We pray for our parents, families and friends, may they continue to help, support and love them
in the years that lie ahead. We pray to the Lord.
6. We pray for the protection of all nations from disastrous, calamities and destructive wars. We
pray to the Lord.
7. In silence, we bow are heads and pray for our personal intentions (Pause for 15 seconds). We
pray to the Lord.

All: Grant us all our said and unsaid petitions according to your will through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
