Introduction

Have you ever noticed that people whom listen to music everyday it becomes a

part of their life? Listening to music may affect people’s perspective of the world and their

behavior, which links to their song choice. Due to the fact that each person has a different

choice of songs can show their emotions. The song choice shows the music artist’s feelings

or experiences, and this may impact the listeners deep emotions too, furthermore, this

may or may not impact their behavior.

Methodology

In this section, there will be information about the method that I do my research

paper. I have mainly got the information by searching on the internet as a source for this

work, to make it more reliable the information will be collected from Google Scholars to

provide a reliable sources. “Utility of this behaviors is check reliably for practical motives

of survival and procreation.”, (Schäfer et al. 2013). The data that I collect by using survey

for people to answer, which these will be collected by using google form. The questions

will be answer with multiple choice and short answer to see others people opinion. This

survey I send this survey to students in MUIDS and outside, to see does music actually

changes people mood or had any impact in psychological (appendix A). The reason that I

send to only students because the students age is not far apart, which around the same

age of students, their experience was around the same or not more than people that much.

Some questions that is ask as a multiple choice is to show the big idea if it changes any

emotion and the reason why they are listening to music. However, short answers is to

show their opinion for each person and to see if there any answer that having a same

perspective or not (appendix B). The cons of this data that it will not be specifically ask

about the type of music because there will be too much information, on the other side, it

is easy to answer this survey for some people. In the next section I will examine the

answers to these questions from my survey.

3
Findings and Discussion

In this section, I will investigate the results from my data. My research is focusing

on the psychological function of music. This will compare various type of people and the

changes that they have from the data that have been collected. For this research paper,

my survey has approved that most of the people have reason for listening to music, also,

it does change people mood (appendix C), which is related to my research, Laukka have

stated that, “listening to music is a source that increasing positive emotions to elderly

people” (2006). Research from the author, Hogan, have can shows various type of well-

being (2019). My survey shows that everybody like listening to music, which shows that

it is one of the behavior that every person has (appendix E). However, answer of some

question is more spread than the other, all together it does go in the same way as other.

The question, “How does it change your mood? Why?”, my data shows that people only

know that music affect their, on the other hand, they don’t understand how it have impact

on their perspective (appendix F). For this research, the weaknesses is when the person

is answering the question in the wrong way, it might be because that they doesn’t know

themselves well or just not understand. However, for this survey multiple choice answer

is going in the same way, which shows that this survey is still right. My new understanding

is that people is still listening to music, even though, they don’t know the reason why this

activity become a habit or a behavior that every person has. This is the behavior that we

have when we born, dancing and singing while young shows that human is a living thing

that have feeling or it is an instinct for everyone.

Conclusion

In conclusion, by listening to music refers that people may change their perspective

their whole life or not, is up to the person thoughts that they have, which it can be change

or not. However, even the data doesn’t exactly right, we can still show results as stated

before. Sometimes the author perspective does not fit every person, but there are chance

that it will changes in the future.
