OSA Commends Students' Success in Kahamili Awards 2019

The annual Kahamili Awards have once again bestowed credit towards the achievements attained
throughout the school year by students, coaches, moderators and student organizations held at the Dr.
Ricardo E. Rotoras Memorial Hall last March 15, 2019 organized by the Office of the Student Affairs (OSA)
in cooperation with the Supreme Student Council (SSC).

The event gave acknowledgement to the students and coaches who brought pride to the school through
winning competitions outside the campus particularly those winners in the MAST Games 2018, Kumbira
2018, 3rd Regional ICPeP Challenge, Quantum Inter-school Competition, DICT Philippine Start Up
Challenge, Quiz Bees and Construction shows.

Citation awards were given in contribution to those people who developed something to the benefit of
the USTP community especially to the developers of iPerform: Online Faculty Performance Evaluation
System and GrabATutor Mobile Application Development Team, both from the works of the College of
Information and Technology and Computing (CITC). Topnotchers for the Chemical Technician Licensure
examination were also the recipient of the award.

Senior High School Student Leaders were also awarded starting from the Outstanding Senior High
School Volunteer Award gained by Christine Cindyrella A. Laride and Outstanding Senior High School
Student Leadership Award attained by Hannah Mae Hormiguera. The Outstanding Student Organization
Moderator Award which this year have two awardees namely Arch. Joffer John Taala, UDA Moderator
and Engr. Jonathan Calibara, JPICE Moderator.

There were also Student Organization Special Awards which are given to the excellent student
organizations who undergo activities in support for the students. First with the Outstanding Advocacy
Campaign achieved by the Society of Information Technology Enthusiasts (SITE) through their Paperless
Campaign; Outstanding Student Activity acquired by the Federation of Accredited Extra-curricular
Student Organization (FAESO) with their Yaka Kaya and State University Mathematics Society (SUMS)
through their Mathematics Tutorial; and lastly the Outstanding Service awarded to the University Digital
Arts (UDA) because of their Creative Services.

The most anticipated major awards were finally announced after the thorough deliberation for the
whole month of February. The President Ricardo E. Rotoras Award 2019 for Outstanding Student
Leadership were awarded to Carl Angelo Suasola, ICPeP President and Lance Christopher Amil, UDA
Director. The Outstanding Student Organization Award for this year has been acquired by three student
organizations specifically Federation of Accredited Extra-curricular Student Organization (FAESO), Junior
Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (JPICE) and Society of Information Technology Enthusiasts (SITE).

These awardees dedicated theirselves throughout the entire year in service to the university despite
their imperfections. This is why the Kahamili Awards is celebrated in order to highlight the students'
excellence that they worked hard for the whole school year. This also serves as an inspiration for the
other students to break more sweat in order for them to also clench the most wanted prize.
