Exercise CONSISTENCY IS EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!

Summary find wpm speed, times by 3 and prac that way

1) 2 min - use pen and move across line in 1 sec

2) 3 min - use pen and move across line in .5 sec

3) 1 min - 1 word in beginning and end in 1 sec

4) 1 min - 2 words in beginning and end in 1 sec
5) 3 min - 1 word in beginning and end in .5 sec

Detailed

During all exercises if possible lay book on a flat surface and DO NOT worry about
comprehension.
Use best judgement when told to keep reading each line to a certain time limit.

Speed Reading Step 1- Test Initial Reading Speed by Clicking Link Above.

Speed Reading Step 2- Use a pen (lid on) or pencil to underline each word as you
read focusing
just above it. This gives your eyes something to track and allows for a consistent
speed and decreasing fixation duration.

Technique (2 Minutes)- max.of 1 sec. per line increasing speed every page.
Speed (3 Minutes)- max.of 1/2 sec. per line increasing speed every page

Speed Reading Step 3- Still using pen to track but this time start and stop reading
"x" words in
from the end of the line. So in the sentence (Students used to enjoy reading 4
hours every day)
in the first technique stage below you would begin reading with the word "used" and
end on "every",
but still using your peripheral vision to read the first and last word. Just as you
are reading this
sentence but you can still see the edge of the computer screen.

Technique (1 Minute)- 1 word in from beginning and end (Max. 1 Sec. per line.)
Technique (1 Minute)- 2 words in from beginning and end (Max. 1 Sec. per line.)
Speed (3 Minutes)- 1 word in from beginning and end (Max. 1/2 Sec. per line.)

Speed Reading Step 4- Test Final Reading Speed by Clicking Link Above.

Speed Reading Step 5- Leave a comment below of your starting and finishing speed to
show improvement.

Bonus Speed Reading Tip

Whatever speed you wish to read at, you should practice these exercises at 3x that
word per minute (wpm).
For example if you wish to read at 800 wpm you should practice at 2400 wpm. Think
of speed reading
as working out a muscle, the more you push yourself to read faster (lifting heavy
weights) the easier it is
to read at the pace you want with full comprehension (feels like lifting light
weights that used to feel heavy).
One more thing I have found is that you can continue to improve your reading speed
if you do this exercise
on a consistent basis. My routine is to do these exercises every saturday morning
and after 3 weeks of doing
this my reading had increased from 600 wpm to 900 wpm, and from the first time of
doing this exercise it
was all the way up from 250 wpm!

This one little exercise has had one of the most dramatic impacts on my business
and personal growth as I am
now able to gain, and then apply knowledge almost 4x as fast! This is what you can
do also, therefore if what
Jim Rohn says is correct in the next 5 years you will be able to gain the
equivalent of 20 years experience if you
had not had this exercise which takes 15 minutes!
