INTRODUCTION

The k-12 curriculum – TVL Agri-Crop strand is offered to grade 11 and

12 learners. Since Agriculture is very important for people since for
people since they cannot survive without food. Food is a necessity-
vegetables and other crops are rich sources of healthy foods
containing nutrients which can have a great impact on the nutritional
condition of the Filipinos.

It has been observed that vegetable and other crop products mostly
came from commercial vegetable growers in the country. When those
vegetable and other crops which the local market. These become
somewhat expensive as such the production of vegetable in the school
and backyards can help augments the supply of vegetable for the family
and even the neighborhood.

This program for the Senior High School “ Work Immersion Partnership”
for Grade 12 TVL - Agri-Crop to Industry such as Sericulture Center
enables the learners to appreciate and develop the skills required in
Agri- Crop production.
Problems/Issues Encountered and Resolutions

PROBLEMS:

1.The first problem I encountered is the distance of Sericulture

Center is far from our school.

2. The second problem is the facilities are limited like, chairs and
tables.

3.The third problems is when accrossing the river it is a little bit

hard for us, especially when the pressure current of the water is very
strong.

4. The fourth problem is lacking of tools and materials for

agriculture.

5. The last problem is we will hike for more than half an hour.

SOLUTIONS:

1. We hired a tricycle for our service.

2. Sharing with our classmates.

3. We ride “balsa” if the current of water is strong and have flash

flood.

4. If the tools and materials are not present in that acre we just
used our hands.

It was the first day of our work immersion, February 4, 2019, Monday;
we had our short orientation with Mr. Jesry Maquirang but before the
orientation has started we introduced ourself and tell the reasons why
we choose this field. Our first speaker orient us about the business
processes of company, he also discussed the importance of patience.
He also talked about the sericulture, it is a culturing worms where it
can produce an expensive silk. According to him “indi kinahangean do
aeam, basta maghugod eang”.

On February 5, 2019, Tuesday, another day has come, we also practice

how to use a hand tractor. Before doing so, our immersion teacher and
partner supervisor give us the instruction first and demonstrate how
to use it correctly. And in the afternoon we performed healing up in
the sunflower garden.

On February 6, 2019, Wednesday, we performed and prepared the land for

planting; conduct field lay-out and constructed a canal.

On February 7, 2019 Thursday, we performed hardening in the Sampaguita

garden. Mr. Jesry Maquirang demonstrate us the proper way of
hardening.

On February 18, 2019, Monday, as requested by Mr. Maquirang we

collected stones in the river for the designs in sunflower garden. On
the afternoon we tried to harvest a mulberry fruits.
On February 19, 2019, Tuesday, on that day, again we harvest a

enjoyed in the experienced that we had.

On February 22, 2019, It was Friday and the last day of our work
immersion. We performed again the under grassing in the mulberry
garden. And in the afternoon we tried to harvest a cocoon.Having a
work immersion, we are grateful and lucky to have an experienced on
that activity. We learned new skills and knowledge, from this it can
be our weapon for facing a new challenges in the near future. We are
also blessed to have our mentor who are always there to guide us and
our principal to support for our future.
REFLECTION

Work immersion program provide us student a “real place” experience,

giving us a set of technical-vocational and livelihood skills that can
help us to make informed a career choice and improved our employment
prospects.

Work immersion give an important role to us, it helped me to shaped

and developed my skills. My training enhanced my understanding of
what is really happening outside the four corners of our classroom.

During the Work Immersion,I’d really value the time and work that we
do with my classmates. It made me understood that “ Experience is the
best Teacher”. It helps us to build our hidden talents and skills that
we have in the field of agriculture. The challenges that we’ve
experienced made us to learn and know the right thing to do.
Unbelievable! Thinking that it is hard to finished those amidst of
difficulties that we had during the immersion
but we “made it”.

Preparing the documents is one of the challenging part needed in our

immersion. But I’m grateful that became familiar to those agencies
that are responsible for releasing the required documents, not just
for immersion but also for my future use.

Success!
