ENHANCING SSS TANDAG BRANCH WEB REGISTRATION

I- INTRODUCTION

Websites provide an easier way to handle customer

service. Providing answers to regularly asked questions

in a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section and

queries on members’ loans and contributions payment,

it can reduce SSS members’ costs and save time and

money, as well as providing much more information. This

also means that they can receive and see for themselves

their own account instantly and saves time, which helps

to encourage positive customer relations in the long

run.

II- OBJECTIVES

GENERAL

 To encourage SSS members to register in the SSS

website.

SPECIFIC

 To propagate the advantages of being registered in

the SSS website.

III- DISCUSSION

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

Today, having a company website is as crucial as hav

ing a shop, office or telephone number. Research has fo

und that 6/10 customers expect brands to have content o

nline about their business. This is same as true in eve

ry government or private institutions to provide an eas

ier tool for inquiries, etc.

Becoming a member in the portal of SSS is an advanta

ge for the members with so many reasons; a member can c

heck contributions and loan payments and can generate P

RN (payment reference number) which is the new trend of

having payment in the SSS payment channels. In addition

, if employed, employee can file maternity and sickness

notifications and file loan application online to emplo

yers advantageous to employees far from their employer.

Above all, it provides satisfaction and convenience to

all SSS members because it will save their money and ti

me. SSS website is accessible anyone all over the world

Pawel Halas (2017) cited in his article that having

a website means customers are always able to find you –

anytime, anywhere. Even outside of business hours, your

website continues to find and secure new customers. It

offers the user convenience as they can access the info

rmation they need in the comfort of their own home, wit

h no added pressure to buy. Plus, as most companies now

adays have their own website, there’s every chance you

could be losing customers to your competitors by stayin

g offline.

In today’s modern world, there is an expectation for

any reputable company to have some kind of online prese

nce. Potential customers would likely be distrusting of

any business that didn’t have a telephone number or a p

hysical address, and the same can be said for not havin

g a website and email address.

Websites in general are great ways to in providing a

place that potential investors can be referred to. It s

hows what your company is about, what it has achieved a

nd what it can achieve in future.

Consequently, online customer support needs to be he

ld by staff with specific skills and unique attitude to

work. Many online customer support tools are incredibly

complex and require advanced training to be used compre

hensively. Such training can be time-consuming and some

times even costly (www.quora.com). But, I honestly don’

t see other disadvantages related to the use of online

services. Nonetheless, pros simply outweigh all the fla

ws you could find.

IV- FINDINGS

I have found out the following situations in the

implementation of web registration:

 Members from far-flung areas especially those came from

barrios find it hard to manipulate computers nor explore

the internet.

 In registration to the SSS website, email address is

necessary. Almost of the members don’t have one.

 Members don’t realize the importance and advantages of

being a member in the SSS website.

RECOMMENDATION

1. Registration in the SSS portal needs an email

address, almost of the members do not have it, so the

SSS Tandag Branch facilitates in issuing email address

for the members and at the same time register them in

the SSS website.

2. Provide brochures for SSS members to have a better

understanding on the benefits a member can get out of

being enrolled in the website.

In accordance to social development theory that

attempts to explain qualitative changes in the

structure and framework of society that will help the

society to better realize aims and objectives. Change

in the mode of transaction form over-the-counter to

online inquiry/transaction was modified to achieve

universal coverage aim of the SSS for the good of its

members. Further, Public Administration Theory is also

applicable in terms of the new structures and functions

of public service of the SSS.

V- CONCLUSION

Nowadays websites are very essential and it’s very

potential to reach a wider audiences. Internet has used

as daily routine in day to day activities, and Internet

is used by millions and billions people across the

globe. Consumers and end users always have a quick view

to see what services you provide. Without having a

website, members from far areas find it hard to reach

out the institution.

Having a website will reduce the price on printing

brochures because website will have all the

information's which the institution would like to

present.
