WELCOME

WOOLDOT IS THE LEADING MANUFACTURER OF BALL RUGS IN NEPAL, AND WE HAVE

ESTABLISHED A HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTION ON THE GROUND IN KATHMANDU.

The team behind Wooldot have been producing and importing rugs from Nepal since early 2008. It all started with a backpacking trip
to Nepal, when we came across the these gorgeous handmade ball rugs, which they have been making in the region for decades. We
established a good contact with our current partners, at that time a small company with 3-4 employees.

In the first couple of years we imported about 20-30 rugs a year, and only for friends and acquaintances. In 2012 we decided to increase
imports and to start selling the rugs on a more commercial level. Today we have about 100 ladies manufacturing rugs for us.

We want to be known for selling the best quality and finest products at a fair price. While importing from Nepal we also want to educate
and develop our manufacturers in the region. It is very important to us that we give our knowhow back to the region.

Everything is handmade and our products have to go through a process of wool grading, carding, dyeing, felting and sewing. There is a
great deal of logistics involved and it requires a lot of coordination.

The colours are non-toxic, hypoallergenic and azo-free. The density is 5.2kg/m2 and determines how firm and stable the ball rug is
made, and here you will be able to see the difference between good and bad quality. The height is approximately 2 cm.
The material is 100% New Zealand wool and sewn together with strong nylon thread.

The felt ball rugs are handmade and every product is unique, slight variations in sizes and colours may occur.
