A. Describe the activity and the goal of the activity. [3 sentences or more]

In my history class we were given a project in which we were to conduct research in our community or within
our school. The goal of the project was to identify and provide a potential solution to the issue. Two other
people and I worked together to interview, survey, and gather data on how school academics affects students
mental health. After we had everything we created a presentation and based on the outcomes of that
presentation we were chosen to go or not go to UCLA to present our findings.

B. How does the activity demonstrate your skills as an effective communicator, a critical thinker or demonstrate
your character development?

This activity demonstrates my skills as an effective communicator because I was capable of presenting my
ideas, research, and presentation. Our presentation was based on students and schools and that was exactly
who we presented to and decided to effectively impact. Not only did I present my findings to students at my
school, but my group and I also presented to UCLA representatives because we got to move forward. So this
skill of an effective communicator is highly demonstrated through this project because I got the chance to
communicate to many people..

C. What could you do next to improve your abilities in the Student Learning Outcomes for this specific artifact?
OR How will you use this skill in the future? [5 sentences or more]
I would use this skill in the future for future projects and/or events. I feel like I could really use this skill to my
advantage when it comes to presenting topics I am very passionate about. Like if I were given a topic to
conduct research on and have data to interpret, then I would work to communicate in the best way. Also, when
in general I communicate with someone I could possibly use this skill.
