Participants: Six (6) respondents of the study coded as P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, and

P6

Venue: Salunayan High School, Salunayan, Midsayap, Cotabato

Facilitator: Researcher

Researcher: Good afternoon everyone! How are you?

Participants: Good afternoon mam! We are fine.

Researcher: Great! By the way, thank you so much for allowing me to conduct

this interview with you guys. So, we will talk about your experiences in using

Quipper School for the past weeks. Uhmm, so, shall we start?

Participants: Yes mam.

P2: Ma’am, excuse po. Ahmmm. Question po ma’am. Pwede po kami magsagot

ng Tagalog mam? Hehe. Tapos, yung ano po, ahmmm. Yung ibang tanong mo

po mam ha, ahh, translate din po. (Excuse me ma’am. Can we also answer in

Tagalog? Please translate your questions as well, ma’am.)

Researcher: Sure! If that’s where you feel the most comfortable, no problem. Do

you have any questions before we start?

Participants: No mam.
69

*Researcher: Okay! We, you have been using Quipper school for like several

weeks already. So, I would like to know what experiences and aspects of Quipper

School do you like the most. Anu-ano yung pinaka gusto nyo sa Quipper School?

P1: Ma’am, ako po muna. Ahhhm, ano po. Gusto ko yung Quipper school

because, ahhm I feel confident mam. Lalo na po in answering the quizzes… Like,

hindi po tulad sa classroom like kung you give a wrong answer, they will make

fun of you. Kasi, if

ever mali man po yung answer ko, my classmates will not know. Yun po mam.

Researcher: Okay, thank you so much. So, you are saying that Quipper school is

making you more confident. Right?

P1: Opo mam.

Researcher: Good! How about you, P2?

P2: Ahmmm. Anu po mam, yung, ahmm. Maganda po ang Quipper school kasi,

ahhmm. Yung

sa gilid po na e click. Yung meron doon parang e pindot mo tapos maglabas yung

explanation bakit mali yung answer tapos kung ano yung tamang answer. I

think mam, ehehe. That’s all po.

Researcher: Okay. So for you, you like Quipper school because you get to check

you have wrong answers in the quizzes. Like, it allows you to learn on your own.

P2: Ahhh. Yun po mam. Opo. Parang I can manage my own learning po mam.

Researcher: Great! Thank you! Any other answers?

P3: Ako mam. Hahaha. Ma’am, ano. Paano bah? Hehe. Kapag po kasi nasa

classroom lang panay ang chismis namin. ‘tsaka parang hindi po ako nakikinig
70

ng maigi. Hehehe.

mam. Lalo na sa mga activities. Ay naku. Hahahah. Diba? So yun po mam, but

when we are here in the computer lab, we, like. uhmm. have to take the activities

seriously… because, syempre we can monitor our scores.

Researcher: Hahaha! Thank you! So, hindi ka pala nakikinig sa akin?

P3: Hahaha. No mam. Joke! Nakikinig naman po pero dahil sadyang medyo

chismosa ako, nakikinig din sa classmate. Hahaha. Pero mam, yun! Gusto ko

talaga itong Quipper school mam. Sana palagi tayo dito. Hehehe

Researcher: Hmmmm. Anyways, thank you. Just to make it sure, you’re saying

that you like Quipper School because it develops self-directed and independent

learning. Am I right?

P3: Yes, mam! You are definitely right!

Researcher: Hahaha! Okay then, Let’s hear it from P4. Same question. What do

you think P4?

P4: Hehehe. Ma’am, wait lang. Hehe. Ma’am masaya po ako every time you say

na we will go to the computer lab.

Quipper time na. Yun lang po ma’am.

Researcher: All right! Thanks! You are saying that you are excited in learning

something new.

P4: Yes ma’am. And I am excited po to do activities in the computer kasi hindi

po sya araw-araw na scenario sa room.

Researcher: Good! Thanks! How about you, P5?

71

P5: For me, ma’am, it’s very empowering. Like, uhmm. I like the using the

Quipper school. Kasi, uhhmm, because I can get to help my classmates who do

not know how to use computers. Like kapag, hindi nila alam ho to mouse over

and click on something, and they like, they don’t know how, I can be of help po.

Ganun po sya mam.

Researcher: Yes, and I thank you for that. I can always see how you exert effort

to help your classmates who are having difficulty. Thank you for helping out and

for always lending your helping hands. Patuloy lang yan ha?

P5: You’re welcome po mam. Sure po ma’am. I always really like collaborating

with others naman po.

Researcher: Wow! A leader indeed! Anyways, Let us ask about the ideas of P6.

P6: Me? Hehehe. Masaya po mag Quipper mam. Kasi, parang games sa

cellphone. Gusto ko yung laging games ehh. Hehe. Mas nakaka motivate kasi

para sa akin yun mam.

Researcher: Okay, thanks! So you are saying that learning is more fun and

interactive because of the gamified feature of Quipper school?

P6: Yes na yes mam.

Researcher: Okay, thank you so much. Do you have any other answers that you

would want to share?

Participants: No more ma’am.

*Researcher: Okay, let us proceed to the next question. Aside from the

experiences that you the most, I am sure that each of you has also encountered

difficulties. Would you please share the difficulties that you have encountered?
72

P1: Ma’am for me po, medyo na di-distract po ako every time nagpapatulong po

yung mga classmates ko. Hindi naman po sa ayaw kung tumulong. Uhmm,

Tapos, ahhmm. Ano,.. yang, uhmm. Pero ako po mismo mam, I don’t have any

Researcher: Thank you! To sum it up, you are saying that some of your

classmates need technical support in accessing Quipper School?

P1: Yes po ma’am. And I think hindi lang po ako ang nakakaramdam nun mam.

I think pati rin sila.

P2: Ma’am, for me naman po.

Hehe. Wala po kasi kami nasanay mam.

Wala man yan sa aming bukid kasi oy. Hehehe. Pero, totoo po. Ahhmm. Medyo

73

Researcher: Alright! At least, ngayon marunong na. Thank you. Let’s hear it

from our other participants.

P3: Tulad din po nila mam. Ahmmm. Hehe.

friendly mo.

P3: Syempre naman mam. Hahaha. Mabuti nalang po talaga ahh.

Researcher: Alright, but just like you other classmates, you need additional

technical assistance, right?

P3: Yes mam. Just like my classmates po.

But now, hmmm. I can

offer help to others na mam. I know na ehh. Chars! Hahaha

Researcher: Okay. You can learn anything naman if you’re willing eh.

P3: Tama talaga yan mam!

Researcher: Well, let’s listen naman to P4, P5 and P6. What do you think guys?

P4: Para sa akin naman po mam, one disadvantage of Quipper School is kapag

browout po or downtime ng internet. Haysss. Walang mangyayari. Diba nga po

nung minsan ayyy. Yung anong tawag dun? Ahhh. Yung ano po, nag reschedule

tayo ng klase kasi brownout. Kaka-sad kaya yun. Masyado po kasing dependent

and Quipper school sa kuryente ehh. Pero over-all naman po kung may kuryente

lang at mabilis ang net, walang problema.

74

Researcher: Yeah! I agree to that! Unfortunately, that is something that we

cannot control. How about you two?

P5: There are times for me mam na mas mabuti yung nakakasalamuha at

nakakausap naming yung isa’t-isa. Not every time naman po. But there are

certain topics that could be better if we are in our groups at nag co-

communicate. That is for my opinion lang naman po.

Researcher: Okay, I respect that. Thank you for voicing that out, kasi totoo

That’s

why we also do group activities most of the time.

P5: Yes mam.

P6: Ma’am, ako naman po. For me mam, medyo problema yung Quipper pag

mahina signal. Hay nako yung, nagha hang talaga. Grabe katagal ng loading

mam. Yung

lang naman po.

Researcher: Alright! Thanks! To sum it up all, the difficulties you have

encountered include, technical difficulties or lack of computer skills, restrictions

of factors like electricity and stable internet connection, and you said that

Quipper school minimizes human interaction. Is there anything else that you

want to add?

P3: Parang lang man lahat mam. Hehe

*Researcher: Okay. So, if you’re are to be asked which learning scenario would

you prefer, which would you choose? Quipper school or your regular school?

Participants: Quipper!
75

Researcher: Oooops, wait. Please answer individually and please state your

reason.

P1: Ma’am! I choose Quipper school kasi high-tech!

P3: Quipper school din po sa akin mam kasi its like hitting two birds with one

stone. Chars. Hehehe. Kasi naman mam, nakaka learn in English kana,

nakakapag-learn about internet and computers ka pa. Kaya saan ka pa?

Hahahaha. And I thank you!

P4: Para naman po sa akin, I’d choose our regular class.

P1, P2, P3: Weh, Di nga!

Researcher: Shhhh. Guys, let’s listen to the explanation of P4. Please go ahead.

P4: Uhmmm. As I am saying po, I’d choose our regular class, kasi doon, wala

tayong iisiping brownout at internet connectivity. Kumbaga, anytime,

anywhere, no worries.

P3: Tama din sya mam! Go beshy!

P5: Yeah. I’d go with P4. I choose our regular class kasi we do more group

activities and group works. So, mas mataas yung level of participation natin.

P6: Well, for me, mas pipiliin ko po yung Quipper School kasi mas nakaka focus

Researcher: Thank you so much for your answers.

76

Researcher: Since we have finished all the topics intended for our sessions, I

think not anymore. We will use Quipper school sa next school year na.

P2: Gusto talaga naming ang Quipper School mam.

P3: Oo nga mam. Madaming good experiences.

P1: Ayyy!

Researcher: Don’t you worry; I will let them know. Anyways, I want to thank

you guys for the participation. I have learned a lot from your experiences.

Participants: You’re welcome ma’am.

Researcher: Alright, once again thank you so much for actively answering my

questions. Let us call this a day. Let’s just see each other around.

Participants: Yes ma’am. Thank you and goodbye ma’am.
