1. Title:
“E Voting System”

2. Functional Requirements:

The E Voting System will be designed to fulfill following functional requirements:


I. Registration of the voter is done by the Election Authorities.
II. Election Authority can change the information any time.
III. Information of every voter is stored in the database.
IV. Election Authority is responsible to add, remove or update candidates and Party list.
V. Voters will be registered during the registration period.
VI. Election Authority/ Admin will be responsible to set the timings and dates of Registration
and Voting.
VII. Voter will be able to login to their account to see the profile and check voting details.
VIII. Voter will be verified using the CNIC number and the finger print.
IX. E voting system authenticates the voter.
X. Voter will be able to cast his/ her vote during the voting time interval.
XI. Voter will not be able to login once the vote is being cast.
XII. E voting system will save the data in the database and generate results at the end of voting
time period.
XIII. E voting system stops voting process according to pre-specified date and timing.
XIV. E voting system posts the result on official voting website.

3. Feasibility Analysis:

An overall study of the project has been carried out and the findings have been listed in this report. The
feasibility of “E Voting System” can be ascertained on the following assessments:

3.1. Technical Feasibility:

The E Voting system will be constituted of two parts: A website that displays results and other election
related details ,register voters, candidates and cast the votes.

 We will be using the Digital Persona device for figure print scanning. The hardware is available
in market at an affordable price.
 For the purpose of figure print recognition, we will use SDK that is provided for free with the
device.
 The website will be developed using PHP and SQL.

3.3. Resource Feasibility:

All the required software, API’s, Libraries and Hardware for the development of this project are
available can be downloaded or can be bought from local market.

3.5. Operational Feasibility:

Our project will be based on real world implementation. We will use a sample of specific number for
the testing process and conduct an election process among the students randomly keeping specific
number of candidates and Parties. The result will then be displayed on the website.

4. Assumptions:

The system will require a working internet connection for continuous transmission of data to the web
server, without an internet connection the system might not work properly. The system will be tested on
a dummy data initially to check if it is working properly.
