THESIS STATEMENT

In modern times, we have a variety of music available throughout the globe which includes
old inherited music as well as music from contemporary styles. No matter what the type of
music is, we need it for numerous purposes like entertainment, social occasions, prayers,
relaxation, therapeutic, boosting the mood, beat loneliness, or as a companion while
travelling and so on. While there are a plethora of types available for music these days and
an increasing love for international music is also observed, in my opinion, the traditional
music of a country is more important than the international music. There are various
reasons for these.

MAIN BODY OF THE ESSAY

First, the traditional music of the country is inherited from several past generations, which
are the roots of our existence on the said land. Thus, this kind of music had not only
preserved the talent of our ancestors but it also helps us to unveil information about their
lifestyle, their beliefs and values, and their sacrifices for the country and future generation.
By listening to it, we are able to realize and appreciate their music skills, thoughts and
sacrifices while learning good virtues along with the history of our origins on the land.
Secondly, we may also feel emotionally allied with our homeland, religion and our people
which will help increase in us, a sense of respect and brotherhood for them. I personally feel
very patriotic and proud of being the native of my country and for the extraordinary talent
our forefathers had and the rich history we have while enjoying the traditional music. In
contrast to it, I am not able to attach to the international music and end up only enjoying
superficially.

However, international music is critically acclaimed and accepted worldwide nowadays.

Unlike traditional music, which is mostly found restricted within the country, the
international music has successfully crossed the borders and is still growing its area of
acceptance and fame. The reason for its success lies in the use of modern musical
instruments, an advanced technology that creates different varieties of blends and mixes
and the internet which has made it easy to cross the borders. People in many countries are
now moving towards international music, finding the classic music as outdated. They like to
keep themselves up-to-date with the world and are hardly interested in historical or ancient
things.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, even though the international music is seeing a growth in its popularity
throughout the world, I firmly believe, that traditional music is more significant for a country
as it reminds us about the outstanding talent of past generations, our glorious history of the
land and our richness of culture.
