Opportunity in Crisis.

The word transformation seems suitable in every crisis. Nowadys, technology drives company to change
their strategy, so that they can become more competitive in the market. Off course significant investment
cannot be avoided to achieved this goals. But one for sure, if investment occur, it will change the entire
or some organizational activities. For example manufacture company has the principal, if they produce
high volume of product, they will reach minimum cost. Because off course labour cost will decrease as
well as ordering cost. But because technology breakthrough very fast, the way people behave also change
and now people easily bored with certain product, and make that product more short in life cycle, for
example during 1989 till 2007, the average smartphone introduce to market is every 4 year, but after
2007, smartphone growing rapidly, its about average every one year new smartphone appear in the
market. This phenomena show us that the way people behave in consuming product become more
evolving. They want more service from the product that their purchase. So as a result, many
manufacturers have struggle to adapt to these process In order to provide a better individual need and
desire. So now as a employee, we need to change our mindset, right? So, how we can do that while
management want to improve their process and customize their product, in the same time maintain
efficiencies? Many of my friends trap in their status quo and cannot change their mindset, they ususally
resist with change, especially to those that already comfort with their zone. They feel disturbed or maybe
threatened when something will change their life, for example, imagine and feel, when you go to your
office or back home, it’s obviously 99% of us will take the same route. And when you encounter your way
to go office change to be more crowded, congestion and traffic, then the action we usually do is complaint
and grumble. In fact , in that situation maybe there are a lot of new routes already developed, but we not
accustomed to that new route, isn’t it? we tend to lazy to try new route because we already confort with
old route which we pass by everyday. Its common because Our brain seems teach us to do routine
activities, and yes we already common with day to day activities. It make us become resistant with any
kind of change. The same with our job, Its obviously people afraid of losing their job due to robot
automation will replace them, or maybe they don’t want being given more task (for example if the
previous target achieved, then offcourse your boss will challenge you to reach new higher target, aren’t
you?, and offcourse, it ll make you cannot sleep tight in the night, you being insomnia, then tomorrow
you cannot perform well because you tired, at the end of the day many of task and taget cannot achived
on time, as a result all the target missed and you got stresseed), this stressed may happen because we
doing something unvoluntary, we being enforce by somebody who even we don’t like it. or the other
probability is because they lack of knowledge to implement that change so they afraid of doing mistake.
But when it come to result, the result will bring a better life as well as reward will come. Now, I will give
you some idea to deal with change securely and effectively.

1. be prepared over anything will happen.

I ll refer this idea from Story of my father, He always refuse to bring his car to workshop because he feel
that car is fine. Do you know every cars has its battery, or we usually call it as “AKI”. Usually we change
this AkI to workshop every one year or more than that. If we still can turn on the engine using energy of
AKI, we simply think our AKI still run well, right? But one day my father want to went his friend’s wedding
using his car. Guess what happen? The car didn’t want to start, and my father cancel his plan to go to
wedding, then we call mechanic to our home to fix it. Now imagine if my father in on his way in the minddle
of the night at highway, who can help him to fix it? Or maybe trap in the middle of traffic? Maybe, We just
worse the traffic, right? Form that time my father always prepared his car by checking to workshop before
the due date. Till one day the mechanic confuse because the battrey still running well,no part broken, but
my father decide to change it. One I remember from his said to mechanic is, instead of the car broken
down somewhere else, it’s better for him to change it really soon. Now, it change my mindset and habit
to always prepare for the worst.

2. Becoming continuous learner

The first question we need to answer is, why we want become contiuos learner? For me, it will benefit to
my career, and will keep me in a state of readiness. I found from Busniess news, Although 90 percent of
CEOs think their company is facing disruptive change driven by digital technologies, 70 percent say that
their organization does not have the skills to adapt. Remember NOKIA CEO saying in his speech “we didn’t
do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost”. The world change to fast, and they missed out on learning,
they missed out on changing, and thus they lost the opportunity to make big money. Those who refuse to
learn & improve, will definitely one day become redundant & not relevant to the industry. It’s not wrong
if you don’t want to learn new things. However, if your thoughts and mindset cannot catch up with time,
you will be eliminated, because The advantage you have yesterday, will be replaced by the trends of
tomorrow.

3. Celebrate little wins

Often we give up because we cannot accomplish the difficult task of making a huge and immediate change,
thus, we need to devide that achievement into several milestone. we need to poor champagne on glass
and drink with our team, collegue or family. Celebrate it with little wins, put hope to next challenge. This
idea benefit you from avoiding loss of motivation, desperate, tired or hopeless of doing change. Spend
one day a week outside the office, hangingout with your team, doing potluck, watching cinema, or going
dineer to wellknown resataurant with them. It also good to maintain you and you’re teammate emotional
health. After celebrate, they will feel empower and ready for the next round again.

Conclusion : (give benefit from doing change)

So, ladies and genltment, Making changes in a every kind of environtment is not easy, even with our habit.
The goal is to make a positive impact to our environment. What we need to see is the reward is even
bigger than the pain we took. For instance if we become continuos learning, we must pay with time and
consistency, but it will give you more options to change careers or industries. You’ll have more
transferable skills that you can take anywhere. we can ancticipate of what will happen or change.

Changes will bring new choices for happiness and fulfillment, because there will be plenty of good
opportunites waiting for you.
