Cuando me dispuse a leer Invisible ya había entrado una vez al mundo del detective Richard
Saussure con Inmortal, la primera entrega de la saga. Esperaba entonces encontrar un buen relato
pero, como sucede con la mayoría de las secuelas, podía ser que no estuviese a la altura de la
primera. Todo lo contrario, Invisible no sólo es una digna segunda parte sino que, en mi opinión,
como historia individual supera a la primera. Principalmente, creo que esto se debe a que la
introducción al mundo fantástico es diferente, cosa que no adelantaré para respetar el misterio.

Siguiendo con la comparación, Invisible tiene un carácter de film Noir más acentuado que el primer
libro. El caso consiste en la desaparición del prometido de una joven, quien es ciega y nunca vio ni
puede describir a su amado. Este amor algo melancólico, rodeado de cierto escenario al estilo
"pueblo chico, infierno grande", despierta simpatías e induce aún más al lector a desear la
resolución del caso.

Por otra parte, hay un seguimiento de la vida de algunos personajes y otros eventos que conocimos
en el primer libro, los cuales parecen estar dirigidos especialmente a la continuidad de la saga,
