Re: Driver's License Privacy and Access Act (Green Light Bill)

Honorable Comptroller:

Thank you for meeting today to discuss the above-referenced pending New York State legislation
which proposes to provide driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants. I am thankful that you
understand the urgency of this issue and the implications such actions could place upon the Erie
County Clerk's Office.

I am writing this letter to formally request that your office provide a public report setting forth the
potential negative consequences if the Erie County Auto Bureau is legislatively compelled to issue
driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants.

As we discussed with key members of our respective staffs, there will be several unintended
consequences to the residents of Erie County. Your role as the County Comptroller is integral to a
proper understanding of this misguided legislation.

I look forward to continuing to work together in a bipartisan manner that benefits the taxpayers of
Erie County.
