Reflection on semester

Well this semester I have learned a lot of new strategies in the writing world that I did not

know before. I acquired a lot of knowledge on perfecting and essay. Even though I am not the

best I try my hardest when it comes to writing essays as it’s not something easy to do. During

this class I learned the basics of how to organized properly a 5 page essay. To start of we were

made include a header and page number and map format which honestly made the paper look

more professional. When starting your introduction you want to start of with an important fact or

like a rhetorical question to get the reader's attention. That would be called the hook. After the

hook you would give some background information about the topic after that comes the thesis

and a counter argument and that would wrap up your introduction. After the introduction goes

your three body paragraphs and each one includes a different argument about the topic and after

that would be a counter argument paragraph. And after that a conclusion. This is the layout I

learned and was able to create for most of my essays that I did.

Writing has never really been the strong part of my English. I like to think I speak the

language better than I write it. When we would have group activities I believe that helped up all

out because we were able to get to know each other a bit more than usual. That lead to us being

able to just talk freely which each other and not feel nervous when we would have to present like

a project or something which is good for those that get nervous. I really enjoyed doing the

activity that lead up to us having to do our first argumentative essay because I feel it made

everything easy for me to understand and be able to perform. I believe that if I would have

dedicated a bit of more time to my writing the outcome would have been better. What I have

learned in this class I will carry with me forever because I liked the way we did our essays and I

feel as if I can master that I will be producing A worthy essays. In my career I help others out so

the skills that I have learned I will like to pass them on and help other where I struggled as well.
