Reflection

According to the “Do What You Are” Inventory, my personality type is ESTJ. This

means I am an extrovert, judgemental, sensor, and a thinker. This means my strong points are

being able to analyze things logically working with what is rather then what could be. I also

make many decisions, and need to maintain control over projects. I work at a rapid pace, and

focus my attention outward. While my blind spots would be that I get frustrated easily and that I

am hesitant/skeptical to try new things. I also sometimes make decisions too quickly.

My college/career satisfiers say that I work best in a structured environment with a clear

understanding of how the rules are laid out. I would agree with this because I do not like when

someone changes something on me at the last minute. I can consider this by thinking about

careers that will not change much overtime and remain fairly the same. My learning style is

structured with very clear instructions. It says I enjoy frequent feedback, and have a need for the

emphasis on the practical usage of said information. None of this surprises me because I like to

know what is expected and to know exactly what to do. When a teacher give a project with no

guidelines I find it much more difficult to complete those projects rather than a project with more

guidelines. I don’t envision it making much of difference because I have know this for a while

and I know what is best for me.

In the “Career Interest Profiler”, I scored highest in the investigative and social areas.
This means that I do a lot of thinking and problem solving along with a lot of communication

and helping others. The two areas I scored the lowest were: realistic and artistic. The traits in this

area are more about practical problems and more labor type jobs with realistic. While artistic is

more self-expression and work without rules. This did not surprise me because I don't like

working with no rules or using self-expression. I more enjoy collaborating and working through

problems with others. I find it easier to work out lab questions with my lab group rather than

alone. This quiz has not altered my future career goals at all because I got the results I suspected

I would get.

According to the “Strengths Explorer” my strengths are that I am dependable, organized,

and that I reach my goals. I would agree with these results because I do not tend to give up on a

goal that I want to achieve. I always show up on time and rarely forget about events I have

agreed to. I keep a lot of my stuff freakily organized except my room. Yet, all my school work is

the most organized folders in the world. I have learned what I have already known but it has

become more apparent to me.
