Annotated Bibliography

“Anheuser-Busch.” American-Style Light Lager Beer | Bud Light, www.budlight.com/.

This is the homepage of Bud Light which continues with the campaign of being the

“healthier” choice of beer. On the website, there are descriptions of their ingredients selected

within their brews. They even name their competitors and quote that they do not have equal

ingredients let alone are healthy for the public. This website is clearly biased and although it is a

form of advertisement it does a poor job of including everything. Hence why the dogmatism

fallacy is prominent in not only the commercial but their website as well.

“Bud Light Super Bowl 2019 TV Commercial, 'Special Delivery'.” ISpot.tv,

www.ispot.tv/ad/IS1y/bud-light-super-bowl-2019-corn-syrup-journey.

This is where I found the commercial it showed the full version and is on a blog site.

Beneath the the video is a brief summary of the entire commercial and what it is about. It also

gives informational details of when it was produced and which companies are involved. This

source is useful not only to just showcase the commercial but because it presents background

information on the ad. Unlike the Bud Light homepage it shows what they produce and how, the

commercial further emphasizes how they advertise not just in their products.

Drake, Tom. “Drake's List of The Most Common Logical Fallacies.” The Most Common

Logical Fallacies, University of Idaho, www.webpages.uidaho.edu/eng207-td/Logic and

Analysis/most_common_logical_fallacies.htm.

This website describes several different fallacies and gives examples of them. The

website is from the University of Idaho and gives detail as to what the dogmatism fallacy is.

Compared to the other documents regarding fallacies, it emphasizes dogmatism as only showing

one person’s point of view and simplifies it. I think it's very reliable because it is from a

professor at a university. I think this one was helpful and easier to understand compared to the

other fallacy website.

“Pseudo-Logical Fallacies.” Https://Www.logicallyfallacious.com,

www.logicallyfallacious.com/tools/lp/Bo/LogicalFallacies/6/Pseudo-Logical-Fallacies.

This website gives definitions of several different fallacies. This website was helpful for

finding a reliable solid definition that I can use. It is different compared to the other fallacy

website from the University of Idaho because it is solely a definition while the other gives a

more in depth detail. This source is important because it helps me analyze the commercial and

what dogmatism is.

Tyson, Lois. Critical Theory Today: a User-Friendly Guide. Routledge, 2015.

This source holds various theories and descriptions of how they are used in society. They

emphasize how each theory can relate to a students’ poem and how it can work to solidify their

argument. Tyson’s book offers many theories in detail giving credit to prominent theorists who

influence it. This book helped me with the Marxist theory because although I know what it is

about it went into depth of how to see Marxism in commercials and other forms of media.
