The information in charts below was gathered from public documents and reports that are published
annually from the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality as a resource for Supervisors to evaluate
current trends and possible needs regarding Class I rubbish in Hancock County. The reports evaluated were
from reporting years of 2012-2016 and is titled “Status Report of Solid Waste Management Facilities and
Activities.” Population numbers were provided from online census data.

The public information above that was evaluated in Hancock County has shown a decrease in Class I Rubbish
over the last five years and a decrease in Class I out of state rubbish over the last five years. Hancock County already
has existing sites per capita above the state average with two permitted sites in Hancock County. Also, according to
MDEQ published reports both permitted Class I rubbish sites have substantial amount of estimated years remaining for
rubbish disposal in Hancock County.
