Pak warns India any change in
J&K status to be deemed as
violation of UNSC resolutions
ISLAMABAD (APP): Paki-
stan Thursday said any move
by India to change the status
of Jammu and Kashmir
through constitutional amend-
ments would be deemed as
violation of the United Nations
Security Council (UNSC)’s
resolutions.
“In principle, there cannot
be any change on Jammu and
Kashmir until plebiscite is
held in accordance with the
UNSC resolutions,” Foreign
Office Spokesman Muham-
m ad Faisal said here at a
weekly press briefing.
The spokesman was re-
sponding to statements by top
Indian politicians who said ab-
rogating the Article 370 of
India’s Constitution, that
grants special status to Jammu
and Kashmir, would pave the
way for valley’s freedom and
resolution of the dispute.
He categorically said In-
dia could not amend the sta-
tus of Jammu and Kashmir
against the wishes of the
Kashmiri people.
He strongly condemned
the ongoing heinous human
rights violations in Indian oc-
cupied Kashmir including ille-

case pertaining to NAB’s ap-
peal against a suspect being
investigated for alleged corrup-
tion, the chief justice questioned
the accountability watchdog
and said, “NAB is not only
meant to make arrests. Its only
objective should not be to reg-
ister a case.”

cording to the results of the Lok
Sabha election in India, BJP, has
attained a clear majority. The
Narendra Modi alliance NDA is
ahead with three hundred and fifty
seats, Congress is second in num-
ber of seats with 93 seats.  Modi
has got the lead in Uttar Pradesh,
Maharashtra, Bihar, Madhya
Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat and
Rajasthan for the second time. In
the unofficial results, National
Democrats Alliance of the Bhartia
Janta Party got a clear majority.
The Congress alliance, United
Progressive Alliance is second.
Total 272 seats are required to
form the government.

Rs5 million released for
developing Sangjani
landfill site
ISLAMABAD (APP): After
the delay of one year, the
Capital Development Author-
ity (CDA) has eventually re-
leased over Rs5 million to de-
velop the first-ever scientific
landfill site near Sangjani for
the disposal of tons of garbage
on permanent basis produced
by the federal capital.
The contract would be
awarded to a experienced
firm after completing all codal
formalities, a Metropolitan
Corporation Islamabad (MCI)
senior official of the Sanitation
Wing told APP on Thursday.
He said the consultant
would carry out geo-tagging
and drilling to evaluate the wa-
ter table of the site.
It would also be ensured
that the underground water of
the area would not be polluted
by dumping of around 750-800
metric tons of garbage and
municipal solid waste per day.
The official said the en-
tire process would take over
four months but the MCI
would start disposing the gar-
bage after the period of two
months on temporary basis.

March-2019.

tion Agency (FIA) for
redressal of her grievance
about immoral pictures being
uploaded on social media.

of the Civil Society Network
for registration of a case un-
der Sections 22-A and 22-B
of Criminal Procedure Code.
The court had reserved the
verdict after hearing argu-
ments of the parties.
In its order released here
on Friday, the court held that
the police had stated that no
illegal act was committed by
the participants whereas the
issue of immoral pictures up-
loaded on social media fall
under the jurisdiction of FIA.
Therefore, the petitioner
should approach the agency
concerned for redressal of his
grievance.
