Our innovation, “Rem!

nster”, is an app that provides open data about current natural


disasters. Our company is dedicated to informing the community about advents of
natural disasters to promote donations and awareness. We update our app every hour
using a combination of verified statistics, and citizen reports of tornados, landslides,
wildfires, and other natural disasters to notify citizens about current natural disasters.
Since our target market, a 60 year old white male, is likely not used to using electronic
applications, we designed our app to have a one click donation button to make our app
simple and easy to use. We also included one click links where the user can easily
donate to ease the lives of those in need. We accept clothes, personal hygiene, canned
foods, water, and toys. We wanted to raise awareness because no one will help if
nobody knows about the current natural disasters. Our overall goal is to relieve the lives
of those affected by natural disasters by raising awareness of current natural plights,
and donations, which encourages people to help each other; ultimately, creating a more
loving, friendly, and generous society. This can all be achieved through our Rem!nster
app.
Our innovation, “Reminster”, addresses the issue for this challenge using data; some of
them being citizen reports and verified news reports. When natural disasters occur,
people lose shelter, and resources but not only does our app alert the user about
dangerous disasters that has affected people of that ara, but we also allow users to help
relieve the negative impacts of natural disasters. Our idea is especially new and
innovative because in today's society, electronic devices are ubiquitous, which is why
we created an app to approach this challenge. Our app is different from other apps
because we update our posts every hour. We hire a team of researchers who uses
predictions, similar to the algorithm that bus prediction apps use, to predict impending
disasters so that we can send our alerts and notifications ahead of time. The predictions
also help in the verifying process of citizen reports on the natural disasters; to ensure
that our updates are accurate. Our app is also very easy to use because it has a one
touch button, which allows the user to easily donate with a click of a button, making it
easier for our target market, a 60 year old white male, to donate easily. Our app really
values convenience because we understand everyone is on the go and with a simple
click button it really cuts down on time. Our app allow others to help and acknowledge
the situations that other people are in; creating a better, more generous society.
Our team noticed, that people who lived in areas that were affected by natural
disasters, aren't receiving the amount of supplies that they need because the natural
disasters aren’t receiving enough publicity. Since not enough people are aware of the
current natural disasters, there won’t be enough donations. This means that the people
who are suffering and in need don’t have enough money or supplies to survive. In
conclusion, we identified the problem, which is that natural disasters needs more
awareness. After we identified the problem, we created a solution, which is the
Rem!nster app. Our solution is an app that provides open data through apps and
websites with verified citizen reports of floods, tornados, and other natural disasters, no
promote awareness and donations. Our solution differs from the competition because
our solution is an app, which can be accessed by anyone with an electronic devices.
Also we added additional features like a quick donation button which not many other
services have done. Our app is also very accurate, and simple to use since it updates
every hour with verified information. It also includes a one click button and link that lets
the donor donate easily. Our verified information comes from multiple sources; some of
them being news reports, citizen inputs, and research based predictions from our team.
Then, the information is analyzed and verified by a team of analytic experts, who
confirms whether or not the information we are about to announce is true or not. This,
ensures that our app won’t post false information.

Our customer is typically a nice and loving person who cares about others. Our
customer will usually be male, who is between 37 to 60 years old, living in Rural
areas. They most likely have a college education since they enough money to
donate. We want to target them because our customer is wealthy, selfless, and
enjoys giving to the community. Our customer also believes that you should help
others whenever you can. Since our customers tend to be older, our customers likely
don’t know as much about how applications work. Our app appeals to our customers
age group because it is simple, and easy to use due to the fact that we use one touch
donations buttons and links to make it easy to donate. This ensures that there is no
confusion. Our consumers are interested in helping others, and they believe that
donating will help society. We think 75 % of our customer base will download our app
and donate money because they are generous, and they care for others. I think that a
lot of people will donate because they believe that donating will help others who are
struggling.
