BRUJILDA AND HER SILENT BROOM.

In a very distant country lived a very, very ugly witch called Brujilda. As she was very, very bad, she was
alone, and her only friend was her broom Blanquita, who looked ugly and dishevelled like her owner.
Blanquita and Brujilda used to have long walks in dark and cold nights but they didn’t speak a word. How
boring!
Brujilda was so bad that she was alone and nobody wanted to speak to her, only Blanquita, her silent broom...
One night she decided to go to the city and steal all the words she could find, and see if at least somebody
would speak to her...
But her efforts were in vain. All the people on her way seemed to have zippers in their mouths and they
wouldn’t speak to her...
One night, when she was walking around the city she thought: “Which is the place where I can find lots of
words? .... A library!” So she ran to the library.
As it was late at night, the library was closed and she had to make a terrible effort to enter through the
chimney... She was very dirty but happy. When she looked around, she exclaimed. “Wow! There are a lots of
words I can take from all these books!”.
She was very excited and she began putting all the books in her big black bag... until it was fat and heavy.
She thought, “It’s enough for today”, so she took her bag and returned to her house. She sat on her favourite
chair, alone with her white broom, so silent and dishevelled, and began taking all the words out of the books.
But she was not happy, this wasn’t what she wanted, she didn’t want only silent words, she wanted friends
too. And she thought: “Nobody speaks to me, because I am a bad witch. I will never get hugs and I will
always be alone with my silent and dishevelled broom”.
So she went to the library and returned all the books she had taken because from that day on she would be
Brujilda, the friendly witch.
