To Whom It May Concern:

According to Albert Schweitzer, famed philosopher, “The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the
will to help others.” Being compassionate and empathetic is a difficult quality to find in many people today as it is easier to
be cynical and antagonistic, but for my student, Marissa Chapman, she has made it her goal in life to be compassionate and
serve others in her future career. I am proud of her achievements, and know she will do well in the future.

As a junior in my English class, Marissa was delightful to have in class. She was always willing to support students that were
struggling, volunteered her thoughts on novels, articles, and other subjects, and she was very dependable. Always
compassionate, questioning, and intuitive, these qualities made Marissa easy to teach, and she learned quickly as well.
Marissa is a true leader for her class.

For Marissa’s senior year, she has remained just as dedicated. As one of the most high achieving students in my English 4
Honors course, Marissa has shown her growth and determination in school. While having a tumultuous home life, some may
use that as an excuse to lose focus, fall behind, or fail. She soars effortlessly in school. As one of the strongest students in
class-- a powerful voice and opinion, well-versed writing and analysis-- Marissa uses her skills outside of school as well. As
a member of AVID and FCCLA, Marissa is also one of the most dependable students in each of those organizations. Serving
as a tutor, and an award-winning member, she proves how hardworking she is every moment she can. Since I have known
Marissa, I have seen her tenacity and development as a student and young woman over time. She is one of my most loyal,
dependable, and intelligent students, and truly brightens the day of anyone around her. I am more than confident that she will
be an outstanding addition to your community, and a fine choice. Marissa thrives on challenge and engagement, and I know
that she will achieve a great amount in her future. Choosing a student of Marissa’s caliber is an easy choice, and I will be
glad to see her succeed in a myriad of ways.

I am more than pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Marissa Chapman. As a dedicated young woman in and out
of the classroom, she will serve your campus and community proudly.

If you have any questions in regards to this recommendation, please contact me via email or phone number. Thank you for
your time.
