Gender Relation

God decreet that men and women were equal in themselves. And God established the
same rules both to men and women as in close the genital “aurat” though not in the same way. The
women's genitals "aurat” began from head to toe and therefore she was obliged to close her genitals
“aurat”, except the face and the palm , when doing the prayer, it's the same with women, even men
must closing his genitals “aurat”

I. Introduction & Methodology

In islam the difference between the normative teachings of islam and the practice of
muslim culture should clearly havr the result of the Qur'an and As-sunnah

II. The Spiritual Aspect

In the qur'an, it says that men and women have similar properties. Allah SWT said: "O
mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed
from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another,
and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer."(QS. An-Nisaa 4: Verse 1), And God
created the soul to every men and women, And men and women are dignity, Allah SWT said:
"And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and
provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with
[definite] preference."(QS. Al-Israa 17: Verse 70) And The qur 'an mentions that women are to be
loved, cherished, and respected, since women are the ones who give birth to those successors. Men
and women have the same responsibility to serve god, and the same reward in the afterlife. The
Qur'an refers to men and women as equal, and the most glorious of all is the most sacred to God.

III. The Economic Aspect

The islamic faith recognizes the right of ownership for women who are not married or
after marriage. Women has the right to her husband's wedding dowry, a woman to his future if
after a divorce, And women have the right as women, wife, mother, or sister and also have the
right of inheritance.

IV. The Social Aspect

First, as a daughter

Islam strictly forbids the murder of baby girls during the jahiliyah period. When the
female (infant) buried alive is questioned for what crime she was killed. (Qur’an 81 89).

Second, as a wife
 In Islam, marriage is based on love and peace, not just inner satisfaction. Allah SWT said:
“[He is] Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you from yourselves, mates, and
among the cattle, mates; He multiplies you thereby. There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the
Hearing, the Seeing."(QS. Ash-Shura 42: Verse 11).

Third, as a mother

Devoted to parents, especially to mothers. Allah SWT said:"And your Lord has decreed
that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them
reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], uff, and do not repel them but speak
to them a noble word."(QS. Al-Israa 17: Verse 23).

Fourth, as a sister in faith

Women are sisters, created from a man's rib. And the prophet muhammad advocated
teaching kindness and respect to women.

V. The Legal/Polical Aspect

Men and women have equal rights and equal gender equality, no limit between them. Men
and women have the right to voice their justice. Allah SWT said: “O you who have believed, when
you contract a debt for a specified term, write it down. And let a scribe write [it] between you in
justice. Let no scribe refuse to write as Allah has taught him. So let him write and let the one who
has the obligation dictate. And let him fear Allah, his Lord, and not leave anything out of it. But if
the one who has the obligation is of limited understanding or weak or unable to dictate himself,
then let his guardian dictate in justice. And bring to witness two witnesses from among your men.
And if there are not two men [available], then a man and two women from those whom you accept
as witnesses - so that if one of the women errs, then the other can remind her. And let not the
witnesses refuse when they are called upon. And do not be [too] weary to write it, whether it is
small or large, for its [specified] term. That is more just in the sight of Allah and stronger as
evidence and more likely to prevent doubt between you, except when it is an immediate transaction
which you conduct among yourselves. For [then] there is no blame upon you if you do not write
it. And take witnesses when you conclude a contract. Let no scribe be harmed or any witness. For
if you do so, indeed, it is [grave] disobedience in you. And fear Allah. And Allah teaches you. And
Allah is Knowing of all things."(QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 282)

This gender equality is still largely ignored by ordinary people, who consider women to be
unequal, It should be reviewed that women also have equal rights, education, and careers.
