• Title: Deploying Technology and Management of


Sustainable Uranium Extraction Projects
• Objective: To implement an effective uranium extraction
strategy to meet fuel needs for nuclear power generation.

Outcome & outputs of the project

• Outcome:
• Improved uranium production planning and implementation
in a framework of social acceptance.

• Outputs:
• Uranium production from low-grade uranium ores assessed;
• Uranium extraction from unconventional sources evaluated;
• Linkages between uranium, coal and oil & gas projects strengthened;
• NORM policy and value-addition requirements in mineral industry developed;
• Stakeholder Partnerships and Social Licensing enhanced;
• Project Management Team Operational.

• Training Course :

• Interregional training course on uranium, coal and oil & gas


classification: Towards a better understanding of energetic basins and
application of UNFC-2009, 16-19 August, 2016 in UlaanBaatar,
Mongolia.

• Interregional training course on stakeholder communications tools


for the uranium production cycle activities, 24-28 April 2017, Malaysia.

• Interregional training course on unconventional uranium resource


assessment, classification and reporting with particular emphasis on
uranium as co- or by-product, 6-10 November 2017, Argentina.
