My growth through high school

At the beginning of highschool, I started off strong, I wanted to make it a good year that

would benefit the time I had throughout the remaining 3 years. My grades had always been at

least proficient, I remember always reminding myself of my future and what

actions/opportunities I took to make the best pathway of my future. Throughout my freshmen

year, I hardly struggled and when I did, I would ask the teacher what ways I can improve an

assignment. Always turning to other students for peer review of essays or assignments before

turning in so that I could get feedback made it much easier and more understanding of what

needed to be fixed.

My grades in high school have been quite the roller coaster throughout the years. I’ve

never failed a class but I’ve had some good and some not so good grades. Throughout high

school, you are trying to figure out who you are and to fit in. When I first got to Merced High, I

didn’t have many friends and was trying to figure out who my friends were. My social life has

caused the roller coaster affect on my grades.

My grades differed throughout each class subject. In English, my grades had been

proficient, I had liked english throughout my whole education, it has been easy for me to flow

when writing. Having a bond with a teacher always made it easier for me to understand what key

events he or she would pay attention to when grading. In Math, it wasn't the same. Math has

always been slightly difficult for me, but it was never too much to complete. I would tend to go

to other students for help, because the teachers way of teaching was harder for me to understand

than a students way of understanding.

When I reached my junior year of high school, I was very comfortable with learning

techniques. Knowing most the teachers through experience in other classes, made it easier for me

to ask for help one on one. I grades were stable for the majority of the year, I never really

struggled. My grades may have slightly slipped but never remained bad for too long, I fear

seeing F’s in my aeries, so as soon as I saw difference I would instantly talk to the teacher to see

what opportunities I can take to improve my grade as soon as possible.

Now as a senior, i'm very proud of myself for being on top my freshmen year because it

really made all the hard work worth it in my senior year. My senior year honestly had varied. I

started off strong but towards the end of the year I started to slack off slightly due to knowing

that I had a few months left until I graduate, but as of now I am starting to finish off strong to

make it easier for my college years.
