Exercise 1

Bob: There (be) is nothing to do after dinner. Why don’t we (take) take in a movie? Which
movie should we (watch) watch ?

Steven: Let’s (watch) watch the new Harry Potter movie. OK! Let’s (get) get some tickets.

Bob: (At the theatre) Excuse me, how long (be) is the wait?

John: It (be) is about another two hours. In fact, I have waited here for more than five hours
already.

Bob: Five hours? When did you arrive?

John: I (get) got here at 7:00 o'clock this morning. More than fifty people (stand) stood here
waiting for tickets when I (arrive) arrived .

Bob: I can't believe that! (be) Are you serious?

John: Yeah, people (take) take Harry Potter movies seriously. In fact, this particular showing has
been sold out for over a week. We are just waiting in line to get a good seat in the theater.

Steven: When did you buy your tickets?


John: I (buy) bought_ them last week by phone. I (know) knew _ tickets would be hard to get.
Last week, I (hear) heard on the news that a group of people in Tsim Sha Tsui (stand) stood in
line for almost a month to buy some.

Bob: I don't believe that!

John: It's true. They (camp) camped out in front of the Broadway cinema for about a month
because they (want) wanted to be the first people to see the movie.
